November 2022
Dear Donor,
During the 2021 service year, our brothers in A rendering of one of the new office buildings in Lubum-
the Democratic Republic of the Congo conducted bashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo
well over 250,000 Bible studies. Over one million
people attended the Memorial of Christ’s death. In order to meet the growing needs, the branch
office facilities are being expanded. In addition to a new residential and office facility being con-
structed near the existing branch in Kinshasa, construction began in November 2020 on an additional
facility in Lubumbashi, which will serve as the main branch office. This facility will feature residences,
offices, a warehouse, a multipurpose center with a dining room, and recreational areas. Despite chal-
lenges because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this project is progressing well and is scheduled to be
completed in 2024. Some of the accommodations will even start to be occupied this year.
How will this new facility benefit the Kingdom work? One brother explains: “We have a large
concentration of publishers in the area, and the new facilities will be used by the Branch Committee
to continue responding to the growing needs in this area and all along the eastern and southern
borders of our branch territory. Lubumbashi, in particular, as a large city, will allow us to take ad-
vantage of improved road conditions as well as additional shipping routes and ports.”
As this exciting project moves forward, we echo the sentiments of Nicolas, a circuit overseer in
Congo, who says: “To know that there will soon be an expansion of Bethel in our city makes us express
ourselves as David did when he was preparing for the construction of the temple: ‘O our God, we
thank you and praise your beautiful name.’” (1 Chronicles 29:13) Yes, all credit goes to Jehovah for
this work. One way he is accomplishing such work is by means of voluntary donations. Thank you for
your contribution.
Sincerely,
