Q1. Do you use a desktop computer* or a laptop*? Do you know
where the hard drive is in your computer? Have you seen it?

Q2. Have you ever run into any hard drive errors? What was the
error? How did it happen and how did you fix it? Did it affect
your work?

Q3. There are two types of hard drives: HDD (hard disk drive)* and
SSD (solid-state drive)*. Compared to HDDs, SSDs run faster,
live longer, yet are much more expensive. If you are going to
buy a new hard drive, which one would you choose? Why?

Q4. Do you have a backup of important data? Where would you

put your backup, in a USB drive, external hard drive or in the “cloud”?

What is a • The hard disk drive is the main, and usually largest, data storage hardware device
in a computer. The operating system, software titles, and most other files are
