MRI CERVICAL SPINE WITHOUT CONTRAST

CLINICAL HISTORY
Neck Pain

PROTOCOL
Multiplanar and multi-echo MRI of the cervical spine was performed without
administration of intravenous contrast.

FINDINGS
The study shows normal curvature and alignment of the cervical spine.
Vertebrae appears normal in height and show normal alignment. No osseous
destruction noted.
No marrow changes are seen.
[Moderate spinal stenosis is seen at C4-C5 and C5-C6 level and Mild stenosis
is seen at C3-C4 and C6-C7 level.]
The visualized spinal cord shows normal MR morphology and signal characteristics.

Disc Spaces:

C2-3: [Disc appear normal at this level. Disc show Pfirrmann Grade 2 degeneration
with no reduction in disc height. Grade 1 stenosis of bilateral neural foramina. Central
canal is patent. Facet joints appear normal. Ligamentum flavum is normal.]
C3-4: [Diffuse disc bulge is seen indenting thecal sac. Disc show Pfirrmann Grade 2
degeneration with no reduction in disc height. Grade 3 stenosis of bilateral neural
foramina. Mild stenosis of spine with thecal sac AP diameter 9.45 mm. Facet joint
hypertrophy is seen. Ligamentum flavum is normal.]
C4-5: [Disc protrusion is seen indenting thecal sac. Disc show Pfirrmann Grade 2
degeneration with no reduction in disc height. Grade 2 stenosis of bilateral neural
foramina. Moderate stenosis of spine with thecal sac AP diameter 7.88 mm. Facet
joint hypertrophy is seen. Ligamentum flavum is normal.]
C5-6: [Diffuse disc bulge is seen indenting thecal sac. Disc show Pfirrmann Grade 2
degeneration with no reduction in disc height. Grade 2 stenosis of bilateral neural
foramina. Moderate stenosis of spine with thecal sac AP diameter 7.95 mm. Facet
joint hypertrophy is seen. Ligamentum flavum is normal.]
C6-7: [Diffuse disc bulge is seen indenting thecal sac. Disc show Pfirrmann Grade 2
degeneration with no reduction in disc height. Grade 2 stenosis of bilateral neural
foramen. Mild stenosis of spine with thecal sac AP diameter 9.64 mm. Facet joint
hypertrophy is seen. Ligamentum flavum is normal.]
C7-T1: [Disc appear normal at this level. Disc show Pfirrmann Grade 2 degeneration
with no reduction in disc height. Grade 2 stenosis of bilateral neural foramina. Central
canal is patent. Facet joint hypertrophy is seen. Ligamentum flavum is normal.]
Posterior osseous structures and soft tissue
structures are normal.
No pre / paraspinal soft tissue collection is seen.

IMPRESSION

1. [Moderate spinal stenosis is seen at C4-C5 and C5-C6 level and Mild at
C3-C4 and C6-C7 level.]
2. [ Disc show Pfirrmann Grade 2 at multiple levels.]
3. [Grade 3 foraminal stenosis at C3-C4 level and Grade 2 stenosis at
multiple levels.]
4. [Multilevel Facet arthropathy is seen.]
