• APC South Apron (valid 07-SEP-2022 - UFN)
WIP from AUG 2022 till NOV 2022. All the marking of Apron South
will be changed.
Stages will be announced by NOTAM.
The progress of the works, by zone, will be from west to east.
Temporarily in effect (NOTAM will be published):
During works, the zone impacted will be closed during the day
between 0530 and 1500.
Absence of parts of TWY A and stand markings.
Special engine run-up procedures may be applied during the
works.
Follow me car mandatory for all arrivals on South Apron parking
stands.
In order to distinguish between old and new stands, the letter A
will be added to the end of the number of the old stands. This
will not be physically marked on the ground but used in
communication phraseology and represented on the different
plans exchanged during works.

1.3.1 Runway Restrictions
• Simultaneous use of RWYs 04L/22R and 04R/22L not allowed.
• RWY 04R/22L:
– Back-track and 180° turn prohibited between TWY S5 and S6.
– Turn pad on TWY S5 not AVBL by night and LVP.
– On TWY S5, right turn onto RWY 04R/22L toward TWY S6 is not allowed
• RWY 04L/22R:
– Turn pad BTN TWY C0 and TWY N0 not AVBL by night and LVP.
– Turn pad BTN TWY C4 and TWY N4 not AVBL by night and LVP.
– On TWY C1, right turn onto RWY 04L/22R is limited to MAX wingspan 65m /
213ft.
• LDG 22L vacate via rapid exit TWY S2.

• South APN, marshaller on stand.
• Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System (A-VDGS) AVBL at stands 110-140.
• APN P0 AVBL only for ACFT less than 30 seats, MAX wingspan 30m / 98ft, MAX LDG
gear 6m / 20ft and MAX MTOW of 34t / 74960lbs.
• When the pilot receives from the guidance system a wrong type of ACFT, a wrong
flight number, an error message, an ESTOP emergency stop message or if the display
becomes unreadable, the ACFT must be stopped immediately, contact GND and ask
for a marshaller and hold position.
• Follow me mandatory for all ARR ACFT on south APN parking stands.
1.4 Operation
1.4.1 Transponder Operation
Transponder Mode S
Select AUTO mode and assigned Mode A code. If AUTO mode is not AVBL, select ON (e.g.
XPDR) and assigned Mode A code.
• from the request for push-back or taxi whichever is earlier;
• after landing, continuously until the ACFT is fully parked on stand;
• when fully parked on stand select STBY.
TCAS should not be selected before approaching the holding point. It should be deselected
after vacating the RWY.
For ACFT taxiing without flight plan, Mode A code 2000 should be selected.
1.5 Noise Abatement Procedures (NAP)
Engine Run-up Areas
Full power ENG tests are not allowed 2000-0800‡.
1.6 Low Visibility Procedures (LVP)
LVP in force when RVR falls below 550m or CEIL is below 200ft.
LVP will be terminated when RVR is 550m or more and ceiling is 200FT or higher, and a
continuing improvement in these conditions is expected.
Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) in use when LVP
activated. Taxi is restricted to TWYs equipped with CLL.
If A-SMGCS is not operational, follow-me is mandatory when RVR is less than 550m or
ceiling is less than 200ft.
Follow-me AVBL O/R.
Low Visibility Preferential Taxi Routes
When RVR is below 500m (except when A-SMGCS is not AVBL):
• For RWY 04R ARR to North APN: exit TWY C4 may be used at pilot's discretion only.
• for RWY 22L DEP from North APN: exit TWY C4 maybe used at pilot's discretion only
for an INT TKOF.

1.7 Warnings
1.7.1 Caution Notes
Compass deviation exceeding 10° may occur on APN P1, P2 and P3.
2 ARRIVAL
2.1 Speed
MAX IAS 250KT below FL100 in airspace classes D, E and G.
• Initial APCH segment MAX IAS 220KT.
• Maintain IAS 220KT until established on ILS.
• The OM RWY 22L or D4 from RWY 22R or RWY 04R shall be crossed at MAX IAS
170KT.
• If unable to comply, inform ATC and state speed applicable.
• ACFT unable to maintain IAS 160KT until base leg for visual APCH or 4NM from THR
for IAP will not be accepted 2200-0400‡ ATA, unless prior permission is obtained
from ATC.
2.2 Communication
After LDG remain on TWR FREQ until reaching parking PSN. If requested by ATC, change to
GND FREQ.
2.3 Communication Failure
If an ACFT does not succeed in LDG within 30min, it must leave the CTR on QDR 255° of
ONL at 2400ft and land at first suitable AD where MET conditions permit a visual APCH and
LDG.
2.4 Arrival Procedure
2.4.1 Continuous Descent Operations (CDO)
CDO AVBL at ATC discretion only, based on radar vectoring or RNP APCH.
2.4.2 Non-standard GP Intercept Position on RWY
RWY 04R
GP intercepts RWY 04R at 337m / 1107ft after landing threshold.
Remaining DIST beyond GP is 3116m / 10222ft.
RWY 22L
GP intercepts RWY 22L at 326m / 1069ft after landing threshold.
Remaining DIST beyond GP is 2961m / 9715ft.
RWY 22R
GP intercepts RWY 22R at 314m / 1030ft after landing threshold.
Remaining DIST beyond GP is 2026m / 6647ft.
2.5 Noise Abatement Procedures (NAP)
Visual Approach
ACFT CAT Medium or Heavy shall not intercept final APCH leg closer than 8NM from THR
except when performing a circling APCH or when being radar vectored by ATC onto the
final APCH leg for a VIS APCH.

When Liege TMA 3, 4 and 5 are not active, ACFT bound for BUB, HUL, SPI or LNO shall
leave Liege TMA at or above 4500ft, climbing to LVL assigned by Brussels ACC.
3.5 De-icing

Maintain a net climb gradient of not less than 5.8% until FL50.
