Performance task in statistics and probability

For this performance task, we were asked to gather Annual tuition fee of our classmates. 5 classmates in each strand.
For STEM I asked julleane Canilang, Vincent Paragna, Shewin Li, Wiljen Callanta, and Benedict Reside. For ABM I asked
Danielle gullen, Aleisa Dela Cruz, Juan Amor, Dembre Laud, and Janine Moreno. For Humms I asked Alyssa Santiago,
Jose Thayer, Ron Domalanta, Althea Tinquico, and Samatha Gutierrez. The data table shown below is the annual
tuition of my classmates.

ANNUAL TUITION
STEM 10,500 32,200 40,000 12,600 11,250
ABM 11,250 18000 29,000 7,500 34,800
HUMMS 54,000 15000 15,400 36,600 15,000

Before proceeding to the Frequency Distribution Table. We must first determine how many classes will be in the
table. The formula in finding how many classes needed for the table is 2^k>n

Solution
k
2 >n
6
2 >15
6
2 >15
64 >15
K=4

Now lets proceed on getting the class interval needed for the table. The formula on getting the class interval is
Hightest value−lowest Value
k
insert the data to the formula that we have gathered.

54000−7500
=7750
6
Always round up the answer therefore the answer is 10000

Now we gathered all necessary data in completing the frequency distribution table and insert all the data that was
gathered.

In this table, I began with the class interval of 0 to 10,000k and the class of 6. I added the data to the table to
calculate the frequency. To calculate the relative frequency, I simply divided the number of data points by the
frequency. Each frequency from a frequency distribution table is added to the sum of its predecessors to
calculate the cumulative frequency. The Cumulative percentage column divides the total number of
observations by the cumulative frequency, and the result is multiplied by 100.

1. Provide a short description or explanation about the distribution of the yearly tuition fee of the
grade 11 students based on the frequency distribution table. What is the largest tuition fee? The
smallest?
In this performance task I summarized the values and the frequency of the yearly tuition fee of the
grade 11 students. The total students that has been interviewed is 15, 5 classmate each strand. Based
on the table, the one who has the highest tuition fee is Alyssa Santiago which is 54000 and the lowest
is Julleane Canilang which is 10500 pesos.
2. What is the typical yearly tuition fee of the grade 11 students?
Observing the table of frequency distribution table of grade 11 students. The one who has the most
frequency is ranging from 10k to 20k. So there are 8 students that has fee ranging from 10k to 20k. So
the ranging from 10k to 20k has the most typical tuition fee of the grade 11 students based on my
table.
