Chapter 1(Mask of wolves)

Chapter 1.
What are dreams? What is the goal of humanity? What is the purpose
of setting goals if we all die anyway? What is freedom and does it exist?
I often ask myself these questions but I can never explain them to
myself. "I should sleep," I tell myself, looking at my watch. I have
nothing to miss anyway. The next day I woke up with a headache.
"Ouch, my head." I get out of bed and my head vibrates. It's like I
drank 15 bottles of whiskey. "What time is it?" I ask myself as I take my
phone in my hand. I was shocked to find out that it is 12 ... “I HAVE TO
BE AT THE STATION AT 12:30! Oh no, oh no, that's not good ... “I run
to the kitchen to eat and when I open the fridge, the cold air penetrates
me. I feel a little fresher but I still have nothing to eat, and I won't go to
the store now. "Leave it, I'm not starving ..." I head for the bathroom
when a force seems to pull me down a little and I fall to the cold floor.
"What the-" but I can't say anything because I vomit. I get on my knees
in terror and see blood appearing on my hands. I fell silent in shock.
The sounds around me distorted and my eardrums seem to buzz. I try
to reach for the phone with my trembling hand. I open it and see that I
have 15 minutes left. I try to get up from the ground while coughing up
blood, uncontrollably. I reach the bathroom and lean on the sink. I
breathe hard and wash my face. I hear my phone vibrate and see Ivy, a
friend of mine calling me. I answer and she asks me, "when are you
coming to the station?" I tremble even louder "Yes ... yes, now, a
moment" I close the call in terror. I get dressed quickly and run to the
station as fast as I can. The bus was already there. I see Ivy standing
last, waiting for me. I come to her and catch my breath but she takes
me by the arm and pushes me on the bus. It doesn't take long for us to
reach the silver gates of the school. I get off, just as dizzy and I think
what might have happened at home might happen again ... What was
that anyway ... I have a parasite in me or something... Thoughts leave
me, then I see Ava, my friend? I honestly don't know what relationship
we have between us. We're friends, but we argue quite often. It's
complicated honestly. It doesn't matter, I care about her quite a lot. I sit
next to her on the bench and I see that she doesn't greet me, I take the
first step. "Hey Ava, You won't believe what happened this morning!"
But she doesn't pay attention to me, she looks at her phone. "Heeey," she
looked up at me. "What is it?" She asked me. "Nothing ... Are you okay?
You look upset" "I am okay, yes" Then she looks at her phone again. The
bell rings and all the students go to their class. I get up and wait for
Ava. We both go in the school. Classes start with math and become
more and more boring. During the long break, some guys come in front
of me to ask me if I want to be with them... I laugh in their noses and
tell them that they can piss off. One starts pushing me. Then the other
tries to slap me. I avoid them as much as I can and I punch one in the
stomach. A fight starts and I keep my guard as high as I can. I honestly
don't feel like fighting with such people and I'm afraid of losing.
Eventually one of them manages to hit me in the face and leaves me on
the floor. I wipe the blood from my nose and try to get up but I feel that
force again so I sit still. The two start laughing, thinking I'm afraid to
get up. They finally leave and I get up when I feel the force
disappearing. I go to Ava and blush, embarrassed by what happened
but she, in disgust "What fools those two are, they probabily didn't
shower in days..ew '' says Ava looking in their direction. I look at her in
shock, being surprised that she is on my side, I smile. "What? It's not
like I care about you or anything..." she tells me. We laugh everything
out. The moment is ruined by screams. We both look shocked at the
people screaming. The abandoned building next to the school is torn to
pieces and under it are 4 primary school children. Pieces of the building
fall next to the children and no one can approach them. Ava grabs my
arm and keeps me away from the building knowing what a maniac I
am. The force pulls me a lot towards the children, my strength seems to
be greater so I pull Ava's arm aside slightly and take I step forward.
Unbeknownst to me, my speed has improved ... a lot. I hear Ava
shouting after me in the back, I hear her well, too well. A piece of the
building is to fall next to a group of teenagers and with speed, I go and
break the piece into small fractions and then I go to the 4 children. Dust
surrounds the kids and I no longer see myself to everyone's shock.
When everything seems to have stopped, when Ava seems to have seen
her life before her eyes and when the building finally falls, a bang is
heard. Everyone is looking in that direction. The building rises in the
air and breaks into small pieces. The dust evaporates due to air
pressure and a monster appears from it. Under it, the protected and
uninjured 4 children.
Ava looked shocked, the monster looking very familiar. Everyone is
scared, shouting for the children, but on the contrary, the 4 were
holding on to the monster. (here I change my perspective) To everyone's
shock, the pale monster, tall with yellow eyes, white horns, pink hair,
and sitting in a superhero position, loses its form and returns to a high
school girl, Riki Ambrose. Riki stands for a while as if abandoned by life
and Ava comes to her in a hurry and catches her before she faints.
People go to Ava and Riki and others to the 4 unharmed children. Ava
tries to wake Riki but she gives no sign that she is still alive. Ava gets
angry and shouts at the teachers. The principal herself comes and
personally takes Riki. Riki opens her eyes and asks where she is but sees
nothing but a white room and devices beeping. She looks around a bit
and adjusts her gaze. Then she sees the mayor sitting next to her in a
chair. "Ah, you woke up ..." Riki is shocked by the mayor's presence and
doesn't know how to answer, so she stutters. "Riki Ambrose, if I know
right, do you know what happened?" Riki thinks for a while then says
"No ... I don't remember anything, I just know that something pulled me
to that building, I don't know what anyway but after, the last thing I
saw was those kids, then the building which was to fall on us, after,
black." "I understand," says the thinking mayor. "Well, if you tell the
truth, we will make a pact. I keep you alive and protected, but you must
promise me that you will not leave this city. Everyone here will know
about your identity, okay?” “Yes ...” “Oh and, one more thing,” the
mayor adds when he leaves, “to experiment a little, you have the right
to kill, but be careful who ...“ then he leaves. Riki stared in shock at the
mayor's macabre words, "kill…?" The principal and the nurse come
down the hall and help Riki to her feet. "Are you better?" The principal
asks. Riki nods meaning yes, it's ... more or less. The two take Riki
outside, in the schoolyard and ask her if she can still use her powers.
Riki doesn't know how to answer again but tries, doing the same thing
as when she was about to die, but unfortunately, it doesn't work. The
nurse suggests that maybe it's because she was put in a life-and-death
situation then. The principal approves but says she can't put her in the
same situation again, however, the building is being investigated to
find out what drew Riki to it. The nurse throws a piece of the building at
Riki and she catches it without looking, then crushes it with one hand.
"Aha, you see, she has something under her sleeve!" Says the nurse,
revealing that Riki now has more advanced senses, speed, and strength,
without transforming. She doesn't know if she should be happy or cry.
The two women leave and Riki looks at the bloody sunset, wondering
where she ended up today. It started weird, yes but it ended even
weirder. What will she do now, will she still be accepted by the world…
Not even she does not know.

Chapter 2(The silver Shack)

Chapter 2.

The sun sets in all its bloody colors. "This day was a disaster," I tell
myself. I walk to the bus while people are talking in whispers, it's like
I'm the newest star in Hollywood. I don't know how I should feel. I don't
like this attention. I get on the dirty stairs of the bus. I enter and a
disturbing silence ensues. I swallow my words and walk to the back of
the bus. A boy enters me, being inattentive. "Be careful where you go,
you have more than two eyes in the end, ugly," he shouted and took off
his headphones. The others start laughing. Some people throw piles of
sheets at me and I do nothing. Aren't they afraid of me? It's like I'm
more afraid of myself ... Ivy left with her father this time ... Too bad.
The girl is quite rich anyway ... She is away, her father is the right
hand of the mayor and her mother is the head of the hospital. I feel
jealous, I say to myself and I start to smile. However, even though
almost the whole school knows how I am, now I'm the only one behind
the bus, some of them are still standing, just not to get close to me ...
 Ridiculous. Just yesterday they were trying to notice me, but to
understand that for them I was your pretty girl then, now I'm a
dangerous monster ... And that's it… The smile on my face melts, and
I'm going to ask ridiculous questions again while the bus starts. I arrive
at the station and the bus stops. I used to say "Goodbye" now, but I can't
even say that because a student closes the door in my nose. I want to
cry as the bus moves on, leaving a monster behind, a nothing ... But I
hear a voice behind me that wakes me up to reality "Hey, can you sleep
at me tonight?" and I see it's Ivy. I quickly wipe the tears from my face
and tell her I need to call my parents. She nods and waits. I give my
father a short message and he replies with a thumbs up. I look up at Ivy
and tell her it's ok. She is happy and asks me if anything happened at
school. I do not answer. I would like to cry next to her but I don't think
it's time. I don't think she would care about me and my problems, after
all, I can't fix this by crying ... there's no point. I hold back my tears and
go up the stairs with Ivy. We enter the big door and I see Ivy's mother,
sitting on the couch, watching TV. Ivy looks very much like her. "Over
here," she tells me and climbs another set of stairs.
I came to her but not before saying "Good evening" to her mother.
After we put on our pajamas, Ivy suggested we watch a movie. I
accepted and decided to watch Lord From Beyond The Grave. A good
movie honestly, with a lot of action and mystery. That force seems to
reappear. I feel my heart beating even harder and I feel suffocated. Ivy
looked straight ahead at the movie and smiled. I look at her insistently
not knowing what I should do, not knowing what this emotion is ... am I
somehow ... in love? I wonder in shock. Ivy looks back at me and sees
my red face. Her smile disappears and she anxiously asks me if I have a
fever. The state of shock disappears and all I can say is "I ... I like ...-"
but what can you see, the words fall out of my mouth and I hear Ivy
"You like someone, I like someone!" The shock can be seen on my face,

over and Ava is no longer waiting for me, we argued quite a lot today
and I don't think she can stand me anymore. I shout at her on the stairs
but she doesn't notice me, I look like no one to her now. Eventually, I
reach her and grab her arm. She looks back at me in frustration. "Let's
take a walk, maybe you won't be upset anymore ..." I suggest but she
doesn't say anything. I sit behind her and wait for an answer until we
reach the school gates. She comes back to me and asks me “So? Where
do you want us to walk? ” I feel good that she doesn’t abandon me and I
tell her“ the park, what do you say? ” she doesn't answer me and goes
to the park, on the reddish alley, full of dead leaves and tears, smiles
and pains on them that can't be seen, but they are there, someone
experienced them ... of course, I was one too among the leaves ... of
course, Ava was also one of the leaves ...
And now she steps on them, steps on the painful, happy, and forgiving
memories of the people who experienced them. We arrive at an
abandoned building that reminds me of that school building. I look

give in to a challenge, so she enters. Everything inside is dusty. Ava
does her thing, kicking stuff and screaming like crazy. I look around at
the stuff on the walls. Things like The Gorilla Gang or Don't Get Close
were written, but then I see blood on the walls. Ava screams constantly
and I tell her to calm down, with a worried face. She is looking at me.
"What, you're scared, pathetic." She rolls her eyes but from the
shadows, a tall, muscular man appears behind Ava. I try to shout at her
in despair but I can't because a man as big appears behind me and
takes me and Ava by the neck. They keep us down and there's nothing
we can do. I try to transform myself, to use my powers but I can't, don't
they work in a situation of life and death? What the hell is this then? It
means I can't concentrate enough. I look at Ava and see that she is
trying to pull out her phone, call the police or someone, but to my
horror, I see the man holding her neck pull out a dagger and slice both
of Ava’s eyes. She screams in despair and pain, shouting "NO, I'M NOT
GOING TO DIE IN YOUR DIRTY HANDS UNWASHED BUGS AAAAH!"
That force pulls me again, pulls me towards the man with the bloody
dagger in his hand, just as it pulled me towards that building from
which I made into little small pieces, so I will do it with him too. I shake
the hand of the person holding my neck and I take it off my neck easily.
I turn quickly and give him a kick in the head, leaving him on the
ground, lifeless. The other leaves Ava and goes back. I go to him and
look down, he is a bug that I want to trample, to flatten with all my
might, no, not even a bug is this man, he is a parasite, a parasite that
must be eliminated. I put my foot in his mouth, then throw him through
the roof of the building. When he falls back, all he can see is my fist in
his stomach. I'm not interested in the two anymore, they're dead now
and I know it's my fault, but as long as they were bad people, I'm right.
I run to Ava and take her in my hands. She keeps her eyes closed and
blood flows from them. In desperation, I break the skin on my hand and
then put it on her eyes. To my amazement then, the skin blends into her
eyes. I lean back a little and let Ava open her eyes. I'm happy for the
first part but. Then I look at Ava and see that now her eyes are red.

Chapter 3(The last bone)

Chapter 3.

I look in confusion and shock at Ava's bright red eyes and wonder if I
should approach her. She says nothing but after a few seconds, her
pupils enlarge. She looks around and starts to panic. What happened to
her, is she at least Ava anymore? I try to get closer to her but she avoids
me.
"Hey! Ava! What's going on, it's me, Riki! ”She swallows and then tells
me she sees hideous creatures everywhere. I look behind me but I don't
see anything. I turn to her and ask, "What creatures?" She gets annoyed
and panics harder, putting her hands on her head and pulling on her
hair. "AVA STOP!" I shout at her but she slaps me on the face and tells
me to leave, I did too much. I put my hand on my face, where she hit me
and now I'm sad. I get up from the wrinkled floor and leave. I don't
want to cause her any more problems, so I'm leaving. I go outside and
leave the park. On the way home the rain begins. I look at the cloudy
and smoky sky and I wonder what I did wrong ... Well, I killed two
people, I fixed Ava's eyes, yes, but at what cost ... I don't know what she
sees or if she suffered anything, I don't know if there are any more
bandits there and honestly, I don't want to go home. I hear my phone
vibrating in my pocket and I try to cover it from the rain. I see it's a
message from Ivy. I hesitated to look at it for a moment but then I
decided that maybe it's important. I open it and see that it writes. "Hey,
I know this sounds weird, but can you please come to the taxi rank? The
flight was delayed and now I have to leave today ... " I hate her, I hate
myself ... After my friendship with Ava probably ended, now I have to
see the person I care about leaving ... I keep my head on the ground, my
wet hair covering it and I cry, of anger, of sadness? Honestly, I don't
know either ... I'm tired of being abandoned and always the one to
blame, now it's not my fault. I run and now my powers are activated so

come to the bus anymore. Instead of laughing, I get angry, put my face
on her shoulder and say nothing. The moment is ruined by the taxi that
arrives at the station. Ivy says "Bye Riki, see you in a few years if I

anything, I just shake my hand. The taxi leaves and with it leaves a
burden on my soul… I go home on foot and when I arrive, my mother
takes me by the arm and asks me where I was, me, wet and full of
nonsense in my head, I say nothing, I just look at her as if half of me is
dead. You know, it wasn't just that I liked her, but I grew up with her, I
had memories with her, she, Ivy taught me how to live for real ... And
now, what should I do?
My father leaves the room and tells me to go to the doctor, to make

She leaves the clinic and waits outside. I think if I died, she would
congratulate me on doing something good with my life and getting out
of hers. She wants me to go to a good university, study well and stay in
an office for the rest of my life, something she did too.
In France, at the Hotel Grana Barocco, Ivy is happy that she has
arrived safely, and she starts doing her homework for tomorrow at the
university. The room was red and modern. When she gets out of bed, a
large, bright-eyed figure threatens Ivy's back. She looks in terror
behind her and only a scream is heard throughout the hotel.

Chapter 4(The empty needle)

It's a Friday and I don't wake up so well. I'm haunted by a mistake I

made with Ava, a mistake that can't be fixed now that it's been made,
and 3 words I didn't say to Ivy ... I love you ... I'm trying to leave the
past behind, to go forward, not to notice the scary memories that seem
to want to pull me, to destroy me with them. But I always look back, I
go back to them one way or another. It's awful and it seems to destroy
me piece by piece. I get out of bed and start my morning routine. I have
to do my homework so I go to the desk and start. Right now, it's
bothering me ... And the bad part is I can't ask Ivy to help me anymore,
she's probably in the university now and working. I should forget about
her …
After all, she does what she likes, she forgot about me so I should do
the same. I finish my homework and start making my backpack. I woke
up earlier this time. I want to mature. I don’t want to rely on anyone
other than me and myself. I do what I can from homework and I
prepare. I looked out the window and saw that they were already at the
station, so I hurried a little, I don't want to be the last one again, as
usual ... I go to the door and come to the station, with my head in the
phone. I don't want to talk to them and I've never done it anyway. I sit
on the bench, in my silence. Ethan, the boy with the blond, curly hair,
who is well dressed, the boy that all the girls are crazy about, himself
comes and sits next to me. I hesitate to look at him.

he doesn't look at me. My eyes widened. I breathe hard and put my
phone in my pocket. I look at him and tell him that Ivy is in France, she
moved. He is a little surprised by what he hears but then he tells me that

know exactly what she wanted to say to him ... I get a little angry when
it comes to Ivy but I give up. "And do you know what she wanted to

confused. I'm a little ashamed and I take my eyes off him. He laughs at
this and then asks me if I'm used to my powers? I'm shocked to hear this
from him, from the popular boy. I turned to him. "I haven't used them
before, I'm afraid ..." "Why would you be afraid?" He asked me. "Well ...

I ask him and I lower my head. "Naa, I don't think you're that type of

smiles. I blush and then I remember the two bandits ... If Ethan found

dream ... And that's what makes me happy. I smile and close the door. I

want to be ... We're getting to school. I look at the gloomy sky and it's

Did she come to school today? If the mayor finds out, he'll execute me
for what I did to her ... If Ethan finds out ... Why am I thinking about
him? I just talked to him ... I don't understand ... I don't want to be one
of his fangirls ... Or make expectations ... Just like I did with Ivy ...I see
Ava sitting on the same bench but I don't go to her, I don't want her to
think I'm forcing this, that I want to reconcile her as soon as possible, I

I see Beatrice, she's an old friend, I haven't spoken in a while, honestly,
I've kind of isolated myself from these people I have in my life. She's a
smart girl, very smart. She is at the top of the students and wants to
overtake Sarah Millner. I think she's 15, but her mentality is 40, not in a
bad way tho ...I greet her and she immediately remembers me. We
talked for a while, I didn't want to bother her too much so I cut the
conversation short. I say goodbye and when I return, I see Ava.
She looked at me angrily. I'm embarrassed and I don't know what to
tell her. "Why didn't you come to greet me too?" She asks me. I feel like
she's jealous in a funny, typical Ava way. I ask her about her eyes and
she avoids the question. The bell rings and we head to our classrooms.
 At English, the teacher tells us that in one of the lessons or one of the
breaks, we will have an alarm for a school shooting. All students are
required to head to the school basement and will be notified when to
leave. The whole class understands and after the class is over and I'm
done ... let's say I got a small grade ... Yes, I swore in class, I don't see
what the big problem would be but it can't be fixed. It doesn't bother me
very much anyway ... It's just a grade.
I'm going out with Ava in the yard. She doesn't seem to have forgotten
what happened, but she's not as annoyed as she was then. The boys
from last time come again for round two. I look at them confused, they
are not scared of me, seriously now, is no one taking me seriously? I
can kill them with two simple moves, for me is now child's play. I accept
the fight and raise my guard, much more confident in myself this time.
(Change of perspective) While all this is happening, Ethan, Beatrice,
and her younger brothers go behind the school, hearing something.
There, out of nowhere, a rather muscular man appears, tall and proud
of something standing in front of them .... Ethan seems traumatized by
what is there, he looks at Beatrice and tells her not to let me come here
for no price! Beatrice, covering her younger siblings' eyes, nods in
fright. She goes to me and tells her brothers to go to the nearby bench
and sit there. She comes near me and sees the fight happening. She
wants to tell me what's going on but she doesn't have the courage, she
waits desperately as if she wants to vomit. The alarm sounds and all
the children run to the basement of the school. The teachers are already
waiting for them downstairs. Ava has my arm around her and she
wants us to go downstairs too, but I look back and see Beatrice. I reach
out and run to Beatrice. Ava gets angry but trusts me so she leaves me.
Beatrice sees me and runs to the back of the school.
She stops at some point, just before she turns at the corner, and tries to
stop me. I notice that she is not in her place so I don't care what she
says and I pass her by. Beatrice yells at Ethan that she tried. Ethan,
shocked, looks behind him and sees me. I came to him, and I put my
hand on his shoulder, asking him about the man in front of us. He says
nothing, looks in front, wanting to say something but just trembles. I
start to wonder what's wrong with him but then I look down. To my
terror, to my disgust, I see Ivy's shattered body on the floor, standing
above a pool of blood, and with parts of her body that are not
recognizable.
 Chapter 5(The blood in the stars)

Chapter 5.

My expression changes to a dead one, as if I saw a ghost, no, I see one,

it's not even a ghost, it's a dead person. It's Ivy, it was Ivy, the girl I

what happened, thinking she's responsible for the disaster. Beatrice
panics and tells them she didn't do anything. „No, no, no, you
misunderstand everything! I witnessed what happened! ”Then more
and more students and teachers gathered around her to hear what had
happened. "Ethan and I were on our way to the basement when the
man leaning against the wall appeared in front of us! At his feet was
the torn and tortured body of Ivy Smith, a former student here at

the school and doctors get out of the car to reach the bodies. Sirens and
screams are heard, cries of happiness and fear, but not of sadness. Not
many people knew Riki and if they knew her, it was only from this
power she had, instead of being pleasant because she was different, she
was removed from the world, being seen as a monster for society,
because in their eyes, they did a good thing and protected themselves,
because that's what people do, they don't care about others, they care
about themselves and their interests, they don't care if they hurt, they
don't care if they do something wrong. But they care, on the contrary,
about the different ones, about those who do not use their standards
and that is disappointing. And one of those people was Riki.
Although she was an ordinary girl, the fact that she suddenly gained

called the mayor and he told them to take Riki to the hospital. The girl's
eyes were puffy and her breathing was heavy. She closes her eyes and
her pulse returns to 0.
Arriving at the hospital, the doctors make room for the stretcher with
Riki on it to reach an office. There, they put her on a bed where they
attached her pulse machine and breathing mask. After a few hours,
where the doctors stood at Riki's door, she showed no sign of life, her
father appeared, red in the face and asking uncontrollably about his
little girl. The two doctors wave at him, indicating that Riki is in the
room next to them. They shake hands with him and, shyly, he enters the
room. He takes off his hat and puts it on his chest, looking at his
daughter. He comes closer to her and puts his hand on her hand. At that
moment, Riki wakes up with a bruised neck and purple eyes.
