The zombie apocalypse. Always seen in shows and books. Who would expect it to
happen in real life? Will anyone survive? And why are there zombies who are
human-like?

It was another normal day at school... or so I thought. I sat in my seat behind Alex and
her friend. "Who's in touch with Sarah?" Ms Park asked. No one responded.
She had been missing since yesterday but I didn't think it was a big deal. She was
probably skipping classes. I'm sure Sarah will be back tomorrow, right?

I half listened and half daydreamed, occasionally writing down notes. As long as I had
notes I could go over it later. I sighed and paid attention to Ms Park again. The door
suddenly opened and Sarah stumbled in. My eyes widened once I noticed her bloody
state.I stood up and rushed towards her. I didn't like her that much but she was bleeding
so of course I'd help her. "What's wrong!?" Ms Park asked in a panicked voice. She
didn't say a word.

"Let's go to the infirmary, okay?" Ms Park turned to the rest of us, "No one says
anything to anyone else until I get to the bottom of this.

A few of us followed. We got her on the bed and she started thrashing around and
making weird noises. A few students backed away. I grabbed her and held her
down. The noises she was making didn't sound human. She bit my arm which made me
quickly pull away.

Her eyes were red, I backed away and quickly disinfected and bandaged up the wound
while everyone else held her down and the nurse tried to inject her.
The way she was acting. was almost like a zombie. But zombies aren't real... right? But
if they were…I hadn't transformed at all. Even though I'd been bitten before the nurse. I
noticed Jojo and Alex walking down the corridor with a few others who had seen off.

I went to go get my bag like nothing ever happened. I noticed not a lot of people were in
the classroom anymore.I'm not sure what happened earlier but I'll try to forget about it
for now. As I headed towards the dining room, I noticed the corridors were almost
empty. That's strange. I guess everyone is already in the dining hall.

It was quite busy when I arrived. I just grabbed a few packaged sandwiches and shoved
them into my bag.I was startled when there was a loud banging noise. Students were
banging on the glass doors. They didn't seem human. They were zombies. Is this real?
My eyes widened as the glass broke and they all came tumbling in.
Students screamed and ran. It was after a few moments that I noticed the zombies were
avoiding me.I was frozen and didn't move for a few seconds. A zombie saw me and
then walked away.I glanced down at my wrist.Because I've been bitten and I didn't
turn… Does that make me one of them? I observed everyone for a moment as I tried to
gain as much information as I could. Everyone else being bitten is turning... So why
didn't I turn? There has to be a reason.

Hopefully my friends are okay, I climbed onto the table and peered out the window.
There are zombies everywhere. At this rate, the whole school will turn into zombies. The
hospital isn't safe either...This is bad... really bad.I hesitated for a second before
jumping out of the window. I sprinted back inside and headed towards the classroom.
Guys.., please be okay.

I reached the classroom and noticed a few people inside. Quickly scanning them I
realized they were all humans. They were holding the doors shut so no zombies would
come in."Someone hold the door!" Suzie screeched as she realized no one was holding
the door.I looked around the room and saw a few people I recognised.

"This is a public announcement. Explosives will be detonated at Park high school.”

"They're gonna blow up the school." Jojo stated. We need to get out of here!

It sounded like someone was walking up the stairs and coming towards us. It was a
zombie! We ran as fast as we could.

I leaned against the wall in exhaustion. Alex collapsed on the floor, "I thought I was
gonna die..." he mumbled. The bombs will be coming soon. All of us will die if we stay
here. I wanted to save him. But it was already too late. If I go back for him I'll be dead
too. I could hear the bombs dropping. We all ran out of the building and into the forest.
Suzie was crying quietly as she ran.

There was a loud explosion. That means.. Jojo is dead. Tears pricked at my eyes but I
refused to let them fall. We have to get out of here. We ran and ran but we started to get
lost. The trails started to disappear and then, we made it to the next town. These streets
were also filled with zombies.

The others had safely made it to a camp. But we couldn't go there. Alex, Suzie and I
were zombies. We stayed hidden away. Will anything go back to normal? Or will I spend
the rest of my days living like this? I'm glad I have Alex and Suzie by my side.Without
them, I'd be lost.
