The petitioners above named submit as follows:-

The addresses of the parties are as in cause title above.

1. About five years ago Petitioner No. 1 and Respondent got married at
Triputi, Andhra Pradesh. Since then they have been residing at
…………… Petitioner No. 2 is the daughter of Petitioner No. 1 and
Respondent.

2. Respondent and his family were not satisfied with the gifts offered in
marriage, and they were demanding a house, which was not agreed by the
Petitioner’s family, therefore there was rift in the family. Respondent and
family started harassing the Petitioner No. 1 in front of family and
relatives. Since Respondent and his family did not get any positive
response for their demand, they intended to remarry the Respondent.

3. Petitioner No. 1 & 2 went to her parents’ house and return 1 week later to
husband’s house during which the parents of respondent managed to get
respondent married to one Revathi d/o …………., PWD contractor, in the
absence of Petitioners from the house of Respondent, as the father of
Revathi agreed to gift house in lieu of marriage.

4. The Petitioner No.1 found Revathi residing in the house of the respondent
and she receives the treatment of the Respondent’s wife by Respondent
and his family. While Petitioners were not provided with basic sustenance
and ill treatment. And when it became impossible for the Petitioners to
stay with Respondent they went back to her parents’ house. Petitioner
from there demanded Rs. 5000 as the maintenance through notice
attached herewith (Annexure I), for which respondent did not agree and
replied through the letter dated …….. attached herewith (Annexure II),
and hence this petition.

5. Requirements of petitioners are food, clothing, shelter, schooling of child


and medical expenses, which are to be met through the maintenance
amount as claimed above through notice. Respondent hasn’t got any
liability, and is earning good amount of money from his Job………….

6. The Respondent has failed to maintain Petitioners, and neglected to make


provisions for their maintenance.

7. This court has got jurisdiction to adjudicate on this petition, as the


Petitioners and Respondent were residing in Mysore after the marriage.

8. Petitioners therefore pray that this court may be pleased to grant


maintenance of Rs. 5000 to each of the petitioner and directing the
respondent for the payment of same from the date of this petition.
