• Tradesperson's Tools Deduction*
enables employees who must purchase tools for their trade to deduct up to $500 for the cost of acquiring new tools. To receive max credit of $500 - minimum of $1646 spent (approx) http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/trades/
• Apprenticeship Job Creation Tax Credit*
enables an employer to obtain a tax credit equal to 10% of the eligible wages payable to an apprentice during the first two years of the contract; however, the maximum credit is $2,000 a year for each apprentice practicing a designated Red Seal trade.
