Welcome to https://www.projnet.

org hosting a suite of tools including DrChecks, the system's unique

Internet-based design review and checking application; and Bidder Inquiry, coordinating all bid-related
communications, including bid inquiries, technical subject matter expert review and evaluation and
project manager replies.

The sign-in page that prompts for a password and provides a link to register also offers an area to input
a Quick Add Key instead. The Key is twelve alphanumeric characters bisected with a hyphen; and when
published as part of the Bid Docs or other documentation, the letters are usually all uppercase. With
the Key, registration and login should be successful without need for a password or Vendor ID. Please
note, however, that the Key provides access to only a single App; to access another Bidder Inquiry or
Plan Room, another Key will be required.

The Call Center can be reached by phone: 800-428-4357 or 217-367-3273 and email: staff@projnet.info
If you forgot your password, click on the Forgot your password link in the lower left of the Sign In area.

Complete the required fields to identify your account and click the [Submit] button.

Supply the answer to your secret question and click the [Verify answer] button.

Your new password will be displayed on screen; to return to the Sign In area, click the ProjNet home
page tag in the header bar, to the far left. Please note that clicking this tag will always return to the
default home page: the sign in page if not logged in, or the list of pinned projects for a logged in user.
After signing in, you can edit your account, including your password and secret question & answer
combination, by selecting the ‘My Account’ menu tab and the ‘Edit My Account’ menu item.

The default display is a list of pinned projects. For many new users, the display might indicate “No data
available in table”. To search for projects, change the selection criteria from ‘My’ to ’All’ and into the
Search text-box, begin typing any part of the expected project’s name or ID.

Once the project is located, it can be pinned to your dashboard by clicking on the push pin icon to the
far left of the data row. The project will then appear by default in the future. Please note that for future
searches, the “pinned?” checkbox will need to be unchecked to search for any projects not already
pinned with the push pin icon.

The push pin of a pinned project will change color and orientation. Click the name of the project to
reach the project’s /Select App/ page.

This /Select App/ page displays menu bars, each with a Search text-box, and a show/hide toggle triangle
to the far right. Clicking the toggle of the DrChecks menu will display those apps in this project.
As did the project, each of these apps has a push pin icon to the far left which can pin the app(s) to the
page. To the right of each review name is displayed the text “You are not assigned to this review. If
needed contact a manger (listed below).” Please contact any of the managers and request assignment.

The project manager has now assigned this account as a Comment Submitter to the two ITR reviews, IDs
1261 & 1274, and as a Comment Evaluator to the other two reviews, IDs 1270 & 1273. The upper two
apps – both the final reviews (IDs 1273 & 1274) are currently closed.

The Design Review and Final Review display “Not Assigned” in the Add Comments column because the
account is assigned to these reviews as an Evaluator, not a Submitter. Assignment to a review is
indicated by the presence of the reports icon (resembling a couple sheets of printed paper) in the RPT
column, and by the absence of the previously displayed message, “You are not assigned…”

As shown by the lower two reviews: to add comments, one would click on the name of the app; to
evaluate comments, one would click on a hyperlinked number in the Evaluate column, usually that
under the Pend(ing) subheading. Although also assigned to both final reviews, this account cannot yet
participate in either of them (no hyperlinks) because they are currently closed by the project manager.

The Internal Technical Review, ID 1261, indicates that the project manager has attached documents to
this app, and assignees can download them by clicking on the (Docs) hyperlink displayed next to the
review name.
Any apps you do not want displayed on the /Select App/ page can be unpinned by clicking on their
individual push pin icons.

Unchecking and rechecking the “Pinned?” checkbox will display the results of having only one of the
four apps pinned. Please note that the number in parentheses indicates the number of apps available in
the app menu; to display both pinned and unpinned, the “Pinned?” checkbox must be unchecked. The
same is true on the Select Project page, a return to which can be achieved by clicking on the
/Select_Project/ link from the breadcrumb menu in the upper left.

The default display has ‘All’ selected as the search criteria with the “pinned?” checkbox checked.
Typing “training” into the Search text box produces no results because no projects with that text in their
names (or IDs) have yet been pinned.

Unchecking the “pinned?” checkbox displays the three projects with “training” in the projects’ names.

The contents of this page can be sorted by any of the three displayed fields by clicking on the
corresponding column heading: Project ID, Project Name, or Created On.

The first click on “Created On” will sort oldest to top, but a second click will resort, newest to top. Any
projects can be pinned by clicking their push pin icon.

To exit, click the (Logout) action in the very upper right of the display, or on the ‘Logout’ menu item of
the ‘My Account’ menu tab.
After logging in and navigating to the /Select App/ page, an assigned comment submitter would click on
the hyperlinked name of an open app under the “Add Comments” column heading to reach the /Enter
Comment/ page.

For comment entry, the required fields are indicated by (req.) following the field tag, and the optional
fields are available if any additional information should be included to help identify the issue. The
selected discipline should describe the comment rather than identify the commenter. Each comment
should contain only a single issue. Multiple issues should be entered as multiple, individual comments,
allowing each issue/comment to be individually addressed and resolved. After composing your
comment, click the [Add Comment] button found in the lower center of the form.
A green banner message will display “Your comment has been saved as ID ####”. The ID is unique,
sequential, and permanent as a reference for this comment. The ID will appear with the comment in
any reports and when viewed on-line. The /Enter Comment/ form will retain many of the field values in
case they may be of further use. To clear them all for your next comment, click [Add & Clear] instead of
the [Add Comment] button.

Upon each click of the [Add] button, the individual comment is entered into the review; there is no final
upload action needed. Your comments will be available for editing under the Edit/Yours column until
they are evaluated, when the comment moves from the Edit/Yours to the My BackCheck/Pend(ing)
column. If you would like a copy of your entries, click on the reports icon, resembling a couple sheets of
printed paper, and found in the RPT column.

Then click on the link for My Comments. The resulting report can be saved as HTML or printed to PDF.
After logging in and navigating to the /Select App/ page, an assigned comment evaluator would click on
the hyperlinked number of items to reach the evaluation form for those comments, usually those that
are pending, found under the Pend(ing) subheading of the Evaluate column.

Centered between the paging buttons (First, Prev, Next, Last) is the position information “Viewing 1 of 2
Items”. The page buttons can be used to browse through the comments.

The total number of comments in this queue can be reduced by using the Filter form – Discipline:
Electrical for example, which reduced the number of comments in the queue from six to two.

The details of the comment are displayed, including the last field of ‘Comment Text:’. Below the
comment display is the Add Evaluation form.
After selecting the appropriate status, and providing the required discussion, click on the lower-center
‘Add Evaluation’ button to save. The ‘Next >’ button is only for navigation – clicking this button will go
to the next comment without saving any of your work on this one. Concur: You agree with the assessment
stated in the original comment and believe it should be resolved with a change or fix. Non-concur: You do not
agree with the assessment stated in the original comment. For Information Only: Typically used when the
comment presents an incomplete picture or when the designer feels that, while they may agree or they may
disagree with the comment, there are factors that all involved should consider before committing to a change or a
fix. Check and Resolve: Most often used to remove the comment from Pending status because a member of the
design team knows that he or she will be supplying the answer to the issue that has been raised but that they are
not yet in possession of the details that they want to present. The comment is then viewed as being addressed by
the evaluator.

A green banner message appears at the top of the page, and ‘Viewing 1 of 1’ is displayed between the
page buttons. The previous comment is now evaluated, no longer pending evaluation, and therefore no
longer in the queue of pending evaluations.
Scrolling down, the evaluation form is displayed. After selecting the appropriate status, and providing
the required discussion, click on the lower-center [Add Evaluation] button to save.

Despite the remaining four comments to be evaluated, the caution message “No comments to
evaluate…” is displayed due to the earlier Filter on Discipline: Electrical. The queue can be reentered by
clicking on the hyperlinked number of comments pending evaluation.

After evaluating all the comments in the queue, your account will again be returned to the /Select App/
page. Note that all six comments that were in the Edit column are now in the All Backcheck column.

The Comment Submitters will backcheck their comments, hopefully closing most of them. Any Open
Backchecks will be returned to the Evaluate/Pend(ing) queue to be evaluated again by the design team.
Once you have been notified by project management that your evaluations have been backchecked, sign
back in and click on the project.

Note that under the All Backcheck/Open column, there are two comments. Those same two comments
are shown under the Evaluate/Pend(ing) column. Click on that hyperlinked number to enter the queue.

All earlier discussions are shown, followed by a form with which to enter your additional evaluation.
Reporting options can be reached by clicking the reports icon (resembling a couple sheets of printed
paper) in the RPT column.

Many reporting options are available, but of most interest are probably Designers Pending Comments
and Snapshot By Discipline.

The Designers Pending Comments report reflects those issues that are awaiting response from the
design team. The contents of this report can be sorted by clicking any of the column headings, such as
Discipline or DocType.

The Snapshot by Discipline report provides the quantity and status of the comments in a review, and
identifies them by the discipline selected by the comments’ submitters. Each of the Category Values is
hyper-linked, providing a path to generate a comment report of all the comments of that discipline.
After logging in and navigating to the /Select App/ page, an assigned comment backchecker would click
on the hyperlinked number of items to reach the backcheck form for those comments, usually those
that are pending, found under the Pend(ing) subheading of the My BackCheck column.

Centered between the page buttons (First, Prev, Next, Last) is the position information “Viewing 1 of 4
Items”. An unresolved issue should retain an Open status. After providing the required discussion, click
on the lower-center [Add Backcheck] button to save. The [Next >] button is only for navigation – clicking
this button will go to the next comment without saving any of your work on this one.

The [Close without Comment] button offers a single click action to close a resolved issue without
needing to select the ‘Closed’ status or provide any discussion text. Should you wish to close a resolved
issue with comment, however, instead click on the [Add Backcheck] button to save the discussion.

Comments that are backchecked open are returned to the Evaluate Pend(ing) column for reevaluation.
When notified by project management that your open backchecks have been reevaluated, sign in again.

The reevaluated back-checks have been returned to the My BackCheck/Pend(ing) column; clicking that
hyperlinked number will reenter the backcheck queue and display the backcheck form.

The comment and following discussions are displayed.

The backcheck form again displays all the same fields and buttons for setting the status and adding a
backcheck discussion. The ‘Flag for followup’ setting may be used if an unresolved issue needs closed.

The options for Back Check Reports include a Review Comment Status Report.

Selecting Critical as the Comment Type will Generate a Report of comments flagged for followup.
The Address Book can be reached through the Help menu or the Quick Navs pull-out tool-menu.

Site Administrators are responsible for overseeing office and user accounts registered in their site, and
have default managerial abilities for all projects in their site. To look up the contact information for site
administrators, select the Site from the drop-down menu, choose Administrators as the User Type, and
click on [Search For User(s)].

Other registered users can be sought by last name …

… email address …

… or by office name. If an expected individual does not appear, they probably need to self-register their
login, and should be referred to their office’s Point of Contact for instruction and assistance:

Search for office accounts by selecting the Type of Listing as ‘Office Listings’ and the results will display
the contact information of that office’s Point of Contact who can help unregistered users register.
If an expected office does not appear, the Help menu offers another option to Request New Office.

The Special Instructions optional discussion field is available if an additional POC should be recognized,
or if the office members will participate in dual roles or non-traditional roles. Customer offices will
inherit default permission of Comment Submitter for the traditional role of authoring original
comments. Architect/Engineer Firms and Contractors default permission is Evaluator for the traditional
role of responding to comments authored by others. Click on the [Add Request] button centered at the
bottom of the form to submit your Request for New Office.

A green banner message confirms addition of request. To return to the home page, click on the Home /
link of the breadcrumb menu return path.
