OLIVER TWIST

By Charles Dickens - Chapter 2

Oliver goes to London. On the way he meets a boy. When Oliver says he is
hungry, this boy buys bread and cheese for him.
“Have you got a place to live?” he asks Oliver. “No, I haven’t.” says Oliver.
“I’m Jack Dawkins, but my friends call me Dodger,” says the boy. “Nice to
meet you, Mr Dodger” answers Oliver. Dodger takes Oliver to Fagin, a tall
man with red hair. He says that Oliver can live there for free.
The next day Fagin and the other boys play a strange game: the boys take
a watch, some money and a handkerchief from his pockets. Oliver thinks
this is a very strange game…
