OLIVER TWIST

By Charles Dickens - Chapter 3

Oliver goes out with Dodger. Dodger and another boy steal an old man’s
handkerchief in front of a bookshop. Oliver understands: “they are thieves
and pickpockets!”
The old man thinks that Oliver is the thief and he calls the police. The police
catches Oliver and they take him to the judge. The owner of the bookshop
says that Oliver is innocent, so he is free.
Mr Brownlow, the old man, takes him to his house. Oliver is ill and very
weak.
Fagin is worried: “Oliver knows where we live, he can tell the police!”
So he sends Nancy to the police station. The girl tells Fagin where Oliver is.
Fagin answers: “when you see Oliver, kidnap him!”
