Improvements of the living standards of the people:

Mining industries have played a great role to the development and improvement of living standards of
the people particularly to those who living around or nearly the mining centers or industries. This is
because mining industries create employment opportunities, revenue generation, economic growth,
and infrastructure development. Mining industries often improves the infrastructure for easy
transportation of minerals and other raw materials from various areas within Tanzania and from
outside, For example the construction of railway from Dare salaam to Mwanza facilitates easy
movement of people with their properties. Also mining industries lead to the construction of various
infrastructure like schools, roads, hospitals and water supply system which benefits both mining
communities and neighboring (ROE, A., & ESSEX, M, 2009). Also, through increase of government
revenue through collection of tax and licences lead to smoothly provisions of social services to their
people which lead improvements of fundamental living standards of citizens (Page J. &Tarp F,2020). Also
through the provisions of employment opportunities to a large number of local people, lead to the
reduction of unemployment. For example ,The implementation of the Mineral Policy of 1997 witnessed
a number of achievements from 1997 to 2007, which include; Increase in employment in large scale
mines from 1,700 to 13,000 workers (Ministry of Energy and Minerals, 2009). Further more, mining
industries contributed to the improvement of living standards of the people because the people around
were able to establish petty businesses like food restaurants which help them to run their life and
families smoothly, hence mining industries or center's areas comprise a large population which enable
them to run their business smoothly and earning more income.
