Questions 7, 8, 9 ETS New Task

Even when computers games tend to have a bad reputation with parents due to their
supposed violent content, these games can be a valuable resource to develop several skills in
young children. In addition to what Kelly mentioned, video games, which now are also adapted
to touch screens and tablets, can help develop hand-eye coordination in children. This skill
comes in handy for almost any stage in life and can help induce curiosity on other subjects, not
only the academic/intellectual-oriented ones. All in all, video games can also play a key role in
developing well rounded individuals with multiple aspirations in life.

It is always quite hard to predict what will happen in the future, especially if we focus on the
fate of workplaces. As Paul mentioned, there are many factor to consider before we know for
certain what is going to happen with work hours. A very strong point to consider is the fact
that jobs are always changing in nature. In spite of the fact that technology's support is
undeniable, human are always striving to improve the technology at our disposal and; to do so,
human need to acquire new skills (e.g, machine learning), which were unheard of in the past.
In addition, the demands to get something done faster are always putting further pressure on
the workers. To sum up, it is very unlikely that work hours will be reduced.

When it comes to reducing carbon dioxide from cars, it is important to notice why people
choose to own a gasoline-powered car in the first place. Contrary to what Paul stated,
providing financial support to electric car manufacturers wouldn't be a successful measure due
to the lack of proper facilities for electric cars. There is a clear example of this in the United
States. Even when Tesla can be considered as one of the forefront companies that want to
push electric cars into the market, their sales are not successful among the middle and lower
class of the country (which represent the vast majority of the population) as there are not
many charging stations around and the charging time needed in order to drive long distances is
too much. Hence, electric cars are not a convenient and feasible solution; at least not in the
near future. Public transportation, on the other hand, can be constantly improved to meet the
demands of the population.
