CS 2200 OVERVIEW
The CS 2200 is compliant with the requirements of the EEC and international medical standards.

The CS 2200 unit has been designed to produce high-quality intraoral radiographies that:

• Shorter exposure times which reduce the risk of motion blur during exposure

The CS 2200 is equipped with a thermal safety system that prevents the generator from
overheating in case of intensive use. This prohibits any exposure as long as the generator has not
cooled down. The I01 error message appears on the display, a red LED lights up on the control
timer unit and an audible beep is heard during the unit cooling period. The beep stops when the
cooling period is over.

To obtain high-quality intraoral radiography with maximum details, you must be very careful when
performing the three steps of the radiography process:

• Positioning the patient, the X-ray generator, and the imaging system
• Setting the exposure parameters according to the imaging receptor used (films,
phosphor plates or sensors)
• Processing the film (if a conventional film is used.)

SITE PREPARATION BEFORE INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT
Prior to placing the order and before installation, you must carefully check
the following requirements.

Standard Compliance
The compliance with all national and local regulations and with the manufacturer’s
recommendations is mandatory for high and low voltage wiring.

Environmental Requirements
Check the following ambient operating condition requirements of the X-ray room before installing
the unit:

• Temperatures: 5~35 °C
• Relative humidity: 30~85%
• Atmospheric pressure: 700~1060 hpa

Mechanical Requirements
WARNING
The CS 2200 Intraoral X-ray unit must be installed so that it is impossible to
rotate the scissor arm through 360°. Otherwise, the power supply cable can
fail and cause electrical damage.

IMPORTANT
To attach the wall framework to the wall, you must use an appropriate fixing
system depending on the type of wall. It is the responsibility of the installer
to choose the appropriate fixing system which must be able to withstand an
extraction force of 147 kg (324 lbs) at each point of attachment.

Electrical Requirements
WARNING
You MUST select the operating voltage when placing an order. The operating
voltage CANNOT be modified on site.

You must use the provided dedicated three-wire electrical line protected by a 16 mA breaker (D
curve) and an RCCB of 30 mA from the electrical panel.

A power supply line generally consists of a three-wire cable (2 conductors + ground). The
minimum cross-section is 2.5 mm2 (14 AWG) and the wire colors and characteristics correspond
to the electrical regulations of each country.

CS 2200 Installation and Service Guide (SM762)_Ed05 4–1

Electrical Requirements

The maximum cable length is:

• 12 m (13 yd.) in 100-130 V

• 24 m (26 yd.) in 230-240 V
For longer lines, the cross-section is increased accordingly, e.g., 3 mm2 (12 AWG) for a 32 m (35
yd.) long cable in 240 V.

IMPORTANT
You must use a cross-section that matches the regulations in force in the
specific country.

The unit can operate at:

• 100/110/130 V
• 230/240 V

The apparent line resistance must be less than or equal to:

• 0.2 Ω in 110/130 V
• 0.5 Ω in 230/240 V

The X-ray unit must have a fixed connection to the electrical power network.

Table 4–1 Optional Operating Unit Voltages

Rated voltage Maximum line

Minimum Maximum
(off-load) current
100 V/110 V/130 V 90 V 144 V 12 A
230 V/240 V 207 V 264 V 5A

IMPORTANT
The maximum line current is obtained by following the instructions to connect
the generator power supply cable. The maximum on-load voltage variation on
the line must not exceed 3%.

WARNING

If other appliances are installed on the same line, interference and voltage
variations may cause your X-ray unit to operate abnormally. To prevent electric
shocks, you must use a ground connection.
