What is Valentine’s Day?

Saint Valentine’s Day or Valentine’s Day is a holiday. It is celebrated every year on
February 14th. In many English-speaking countries people send cards, flowers and
chocolate to people they love. This is a special date to celebrate love and friendship.
In some countries children decorate their classrooms with hearts, red roses and cupids.
Children write “valentines” to their friends, classmates and to their parents. A Valentine
card usually has a poem and this question: will you be my Valentine?
At the bakery you can buy cakes and cookies in the shape of hearts. At the candy shop
you can also buy Valentine’s chocolate and candy. Some people go out to have dinner or
