Case Scenario –

Business can choose the right entry mode for their business when they decided to enter the
foreign market. There was numerous entry mode for international business and also
numerous institutional factors that effect on choosing of entry mode.

Task 1 – Describe each type of entry mode for international arrangement base on equity and
non-equity arrangements.

Task 2- Evaluate how institutional factors or structural factors effect on choosing of entry
mode. Describes the two international business case for their decisions to this task.

Executive Summary
The healthcare industry is a dynamic and multifaceted sector, serving as a basis for
preserving public health and well-being. Star Business Corporation is a prominent and
diversified healthcare company operating pharmacy, healthcare services, and retail healthcare
products. As the company continue to grow, the role of the business development manager
becomes crucial, as it directly contributes to the company's success by increasing growth and
overall revenue.
There is now a vacancy of business development manager position as individuals with
exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and a strong desire to be creative will be recruited.
The HR department recognizes the importance of finding a skilled business development
manager for the healthcare service. The recruitment process comprises tactics and methods
for locating a suitable person who knows the healthcare sector and collaborates with a team
and business partners to improve the offers.
The HR department will carry out the recruitment process according to job analysis, job
description and job specification as established by the Myanmar labor market as it is
currently experiencing challenges such as a shortage of skilled personnel. Job descriptions
and job specifications will provide the information for the market and corporation that
requires a leader that is creative, imaginative, and strategic. The chosen business
development manager will assist the corporation in performing better in the healthcare
industry, strengthening the brand, and achieving the organization's goals.

1. Introduction of Star Business Corporation


Star Business Corporation is an organized and diverse healthcare firm with operations in
pharmacy, healthcare services, and retail committed to improving health outcomes and
making healthcare more accessible and convenient for individuals and communities through
a wide range of services.
The corporation has a large network of departments that offer a variety of services such
as prescription pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter products, selfcare and beauty products, and
health-related merchandise. The company focus on preventive care and wellbeing, as well as
assisting individuals in managing chronic diseases and making educated health-care
decisions thus improving patient care. The company also contributes healthcare services to
individuals and families such as emergency medical services and urgent care facilities for
immediate medical attention, diagnostic tests, imaging services (such as X-rays and MRIs),
and laboratory analyses to help identify and assess medical conditions. The corporation
participates in philanthropic projects and community programs to improve healthcare
inequities and promote health education well-being among the communities.
The primary goal of the corporation is to enhance the health and well-being of individuals
and communities through high-quality medical care, preventive services, health education,
and effective treatments. Overall, the healthcare corporation seeks to improve health
outcomes, prevent illnesses, and make a positive impact on the overall quality of life.

2. PESTLE Analysis on Star Business Corporation


PESTLE analysis is a marketing concept that uses to analyze the environment factors that
can impact an organization. PESTLE stands for Political, Economic, Social, Technological,
Legal, and Environmental considerations. It provides a wide overview from a variety of
angles that should be considered while evaluating a concept or plan. (Analysis, 2023)
Since Myanmar business industry has been facing a lot of difficulties because of military
coup, the healthcare business is having a hard time dealing with producing, export, import
and distribution of healthcare related materials. Moreover, a challenge for the healthcare
sector in Myanmar has risen which is a shortage of skilled professionals who can contribute
to a prosperous business operations of healthcare industry.
Governments heavily regulate healthcare industry in order to protect patient safety, data
privacy, and ethical standards. Changes in healthcare policy and regulations can have an
impact on funding, reimbursement, and access to care. Because of the military coup in
Myanmar, political stability can have an impact on healthcare infrastructure, funding, and
service delivery. (Adamkasi, 2022)
Many economic concerns, particularly inflation, unemployment, and interest rates, will
have an impact on healthcare companies. Any of these changes can affect how the public
spends its money, hence influencing policy expenditure. Since economic in Myanmar in
unstable due to military coup, healthcare business is struggling in production of health-
related products and providing services to communities because of high interest rates and
inflation. (Messineo, 2023)
Social factors such as changes in demographics and lifestyle changes influence on
healthcare industry. Myanmar being a religious country with rich in beliefs and cultural
norms, traditional medicine is being used by most of the communities in rural areas.
Proposing a public health awareness is necessary for the health industry to improve the
knowledge and health quality of certain areas with less knowledge of health. (Adamkasi,
2022)
Because of technological improvements, the healthcare business is seeing good changes
as providing patients to obtain better care. Although it is quite a challenge for Myanmar
healthcare industry to catch up modern technology, some hospitals and private clinics have
technological advancements in medical services and healthcare facilities in diagnosis,
treatment, emergency care, laboratory analysis and long-term care.
Policies, rules and taxation laws are crucial for the healthcare industry as legal
regulations impact healthcare providers and patient rights. The main factors challenging
Myanmar healthcare industry are medical malpractice, healthcare fraud and abuse. Illegal use
of healthcare related products such as drugs and medical equipment without authorization
leads to financial losses and compromised patient care. (Messineo, 2023)
Since the environment has a huge impact on healthcare sector, environmental
sustainability provides healthcare institutions financially. Because of the poor health
education and low socio-economic standards, it is still difficult to educate the communities
about the environmental health related issues such as climate change, air and water quality,
waste management and emergency response causing a great impact on healthcare industry
business. (Adamkasi, 2022)

3. Task 1: Job Analysis of Business Development Manager


Job analysis is an organized approach that evaluates the components of a job role. This
includes detailing the specific tasks performed, associated responsibilities and duties which
provide job requirements, the tools used, the skills needed, and the knowledge required.
Additionally, the analysis includes the work environment, the job's position and the
performance. To gather information, direct observation and interviews with applicants are
conducted. Job analysis serves several purposes, such as establishing fair salary structures,
identifying training needs, setting performance goals, and making informed decisions related
to promotions or addressing insufficient performance.
In conducting job analysis, the HR department utilizes techniques like the Department of
Labor's ONET Content Model, Functional Job Analysis and the Position Analysis
Questionnaire. ONET's content model categorizes job aspects into six domains, describing
daily job elements, qualifications, and worker interests. It outlines the mix of Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) required, along with tasks and activities. These techniques
include worker characteristics, requirements, experience, occupation-specific information,
workforce attributes, and occupational demands. Functional job analysis (FJA) is a method of
job analysis that focuses on the interactions between the tasks, the employee, and the
organization which aims to evaluate distinct job results while identifying job responsibilities
through task statements. The Position Analysis Questionnaire (PAQ) gathers comprehensive
data for various job types that includes 194 elements organized into six major divisions and

For Star Business Corporation, the HR department acknowledges that conducting a job
analysis for the business development manager role has a valuable purpose. This analysis

responsibilities. It describes how the job should be done, the necessary functions, and the
techniques for completing the work. The job description also outlines the organization's
general mission and aims. (David A. DeCenzo, 2015)
The Myanmar labor market is facing significant issues because of the consequences of
the COVID-19, the 2021 military takeover and socioeconomic changes. The shortage of
skilled and certified staff in the healthcare industry has a great impact on healthcare
operations. Arranging a job description for a business development manager involves
alignment with the current labor market and the Corporation's specific needs. The following

requirements for specific jobs would result in fewer applications and dissatisfaction among
recruits. Thus, setting acceptable levels of specification can motivate candidates and increase
recruit satisfaction. The job description for Star Business Corporation's business development
manager is as follows.

 Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is


strongly encouraged, with academic coursework in international marketing, business
administration in healthcare industry or other related fields of study.
 Experience: 2-4 years of experience with a hospital, clinic, care centers, laboratories
or hospitality industry-related business.

6. Conclusion
Currently, Myanmar is facing an economic instability compounded by the outcome of
Covid-19 and a military coup. These events have contributed to a shortage of skilled labor,
leading to a reduction in business development among corporations. Thus, the role of human
resource management has become of significant importance due difficulty in sourcing and
recruiting proficient employees. Human resource (HR) professionals are tasked to create and
implement recruitment processes to determine the key employee positions important for the
corporation's accomplishments. The role of a business development manager at Star Business
Corporation provides propelling growth and making crucial contributions to the overall
success of the corporation within the healthcare industry. The process of finding the proper
applicant for this position has significant effects as the applicant will have a strong desire to
develop growth plans, encourage business partners, and provide excellent customer
experiences thus bringing the overall success and financial prosperity of the corporation.
