Activity: Look from the Bible the following passages. Write a short
explanation/ reflection on what does each say about hope?

1. Romans 15:13 'May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.'

- When we put our faith in God, he rewards us with many blessings and even more.

2. Psalm 33:18 ‘But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,’
Those who believe in God's love and fear him keep him near them so that he can protect
them from all their enemies and evil, and giving them all they need in life.

3. Psalm 31:24 ‘Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.’

Whatever the situation, we must remain strong and put our trust in God since he is on
our side in all things. He guards us at all times, shielding us from every tragedy and calamity
that may befall to us because those who put their faith in him will never be let down.

4. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 ‘For the Lord himself, with a word of command, with the voice of
an archangel and with the trumpet of God, will come down from heaven, and the dead in
Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with
them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.’
And at the return of Jesus, those who trust in him will be saved, the dead will rise
again, those who believe in him will join them, to be with the Lord forever.

5. 1 Timothy 4:10 ‘That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the
living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.’
He doesn't only care about those who accept Him; He also cares about those who reject
Him. Rather than punishing it, He freed it from His vengeful anger. The same evildoers who
benefited from God's tolerance and kindness.
6. Psalm 62:5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
Only in the Lord can we find genuine rest. It's God who gives us spiritual peace by
fueling our hearts. Rather than be concerned about anything, we place our faith in him.

7. Romans 15:4 ‘ For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so
that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide
we might have hope.’
They were written for us, so that people throughout the ages could find encouragement
and hope in the Scriptures. They give us the strength to keep going even when things are hard.
It's important to remember that Christ did not come to earth only for His own pleasure. With
God's assistance and encouragement, we can all live in peace and praise God in unison while
putting the needs of others ahead of our own. We must greet one another as Christ has
welcomed us.

8. 2 Thessalonians 2:16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who
loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope,
Those who put their faith in him will not perish, but will live in everlasting life. He is the
only hope for those who put their faith in him alone and depend on his grace and power
alone.

9. Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
When we trust God, we will have many blessings and more will overflow.

10. Proverbs 10:28 The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come
to nothing.
What we ask of others must be good and not evil.
