ABOUT US
Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi is a Grade ‘A’ accredited
college by NAAC with a score of 3.6. Ranked among the country's top 10
colleges for commerce, the college has maintained its stature with a
combination of diverse professional fields along with a remarkable
academic performance in Commerce, Mathematics, Economics and
Humanities.

SBSC is defined by its 30+ societies catering to diverse interest areas

including departmental, cultural, entrepreneurial & management societies.
The students have been given the right kind of platform to leverage their
skills, and avail valuable experiences with firms such as The Big4s, The Big3s,
American Express, Grant Thornton, & Reliance, all during their undergraduate
years.

The Placement Cell actively aims to enrich the students with a powerful
interface between SBSC & the recruiters so that imparting knowledge in
multiple key-interest areas becomes efficient. The amalgamation of an
extensive CV vetting process, insightful webinars and experience-driven
strategies by Guest speakers bridges the gap between the students and the
corporate world.

With a plenitude of companies conducting placement drives every

academic year, we strive to foster growth & bring repute to the institution.
The Placement Cell, SBSC for the academic session 2022-2023 eagerly
anticipates a productive and an effective year by strengthening existing

180 Degrees Consulting is the world’s
largest student-run consultancy for non-
profits & social enterprises. 180 DC SBSC in
the past 1 year has provided strategy
consulting services to 4 Social Enterprises
with a cumulative Net Promoter Score of a
perfect +100. They have conducted 10+
training sessions with our mentors from
prestigious firms such as McKinsey, Bain,
Deloitte, Accenture, KPMG etc.
Hult Prize Having hosted a tremendously
successful On-Campus competition this
year as well, the Hult Prize SBSC invited all
the students from the college to present
socially sound startup ideas on the theme
‘Getting the World Back to Work’. The
society also had an opportunity to host a
webinar with Mr. Peyush Bansal (Co-
Founder & CEO, Lenskart)
Encode (The Internship Cell) with a team
of 40 members, they aim at providing
internships which help them grab their
share in the corporate world. They also
assist the students’ skill sets by organizing
various workshops and seminars on
relevant topics. With their flagship events
as Internovate, Winternovate and
Skillovate, their top recruiters from the past
year include KRG Consultants, Vahdam
India, Coding Ninjas etc.
Commerce Association: The society
constantly holds webinars and events to
enhance the knowledge and proficiency of
the students in domains of the stock
market, consultancy, Career Building and
more with esteemed alumni such as Mr.
Varun Sridhar, the CEO of Paytm Money.
The Enactus SBSC branch is one of the top
enactus branches across Delhi University.
Their projects and campaigns, aimed at
sustainable development, have won many
accolades including the KPMG grant. The
podcast series with some of the biggest
social entrepreneurs has been widely
recognized.
Finance and Investment Cell: Founded
with the prime aim to provide in-depth
knowledge of finance and investment
avenues and empower financial literacy,
the society has successfully hosted its
annual flagship event, Cromulent’22, with
two entirely new events.
YES is the premier Entrepreneurship
Society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College.
Established in 2013, YES SBSC has over 15+
national-level competition wins at the
likes of SRCC, IITs, NSUT etc. The annual
event saw a total footfall of 2000+ people
from tier 1 institutes across the country
and the YES Podcast Series was ranked
33rd all in India in the entrepreneurship
category.
TEDxSBSC is an independently organized
TED event, where “x” defines an
independently organized event under TED.
It is recognised as one of the flagship TEDx
events in the Delhi-NCR region. In this
tenure, they successfully conducted the
4th edition of TEDxConference towards an

Ecospire: Representing the Economics
Department, Ecospire organised a series of
three webinars on some of the most crucial
contemporary economics themes.
Ecospire’s annual fest, Econotize, has been
one of the leading economics fests in the DU
circuit for the past several years with a total
participation of 1000+ students .
Entrepreneurship Cell: Established through
the Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana which
fosters the spirit of entrepreneurship in
campus and beyond. The students have
launched their own startups such as Flying
Wings, Homely Beds, INFYniti, etc.
The Marketing Society: This year the society
published articles related to Marketing,
Conducted Mark talks and initiated
Telegram and WhatsApp communities to
provide a platform to share interesting
Marketing phenomena, explainers and
quizzes. They were also engaged in a live
project with Growdiesel.
CENTRE FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT. Career
Counselling and Guidance Cell is a wing
under Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, the
University of Delhi that aims to create a
dynamic forum to cater to the needs of
career-related directions and counsel. The
key focus of CCGC is to provide
learning/training resources in the areas of
development and to prepare students to
meet their future challenges through
regular workshops and webinars on the
topics like CV Building,

CV VETTING PROCESS

The Placement Cell goes
through an online collection
process of the vetted CVs of all
students who wish to sit for
placements for the year 2022-
23.
To verify the credentials,
supporting documents and
certificates are sent by the
students and maintained
online. Further, they go
through scrutinisation by the
cell.
In order to ensure that
students can update their
skills, internships and
certifications to their
respective CVs, the CV bank
will be updated every month.
As per the recruiters’ eligibility
criteria, CVs would be provided
to them as and when they
demand. This will assist in
making the process more
efficient and effortless.

This entire process of CV vetting ensures that recruiters are provided w the most credible information
and bonafide CVs of the candidates which ensures that the further steps are smooth.
