PART 1
"Come in,' said a voice. Jane Ross opened the door and went into a small room. There was a man
sitting behind a table.
"Good afternoon,' said Jane. 'I want to see Madame Yolanda, the fortune teller’.
'Madame Yolanda is not here today,' said the man. 'But don't worry. I'll tell you about your future.
What questions do you want to ask?"
Jane looked at the fortune teller. She couldn't see him very well because the room was very dark.
Jane: Well, I have a problem with my boyfriend. We argue all the time. I'm not sure that he loves me.
I want to know if we will stay together or not.
The man: Please choose five cards, but don't look at them.
The fortune teller put the cards on the table face down.
Jane took five cards. The fortune teller turned over the first card.
The man: Ah, this is a good card. This means you’ll be very lucky.
PART 2
Two hours ago
Madame Yolanda was in the dark room when a tall young man came in.
‘Good afternoon’ said the young man. ‘My name is Jim and I need your help.’
‘Choose five cards then’ said the fortune teller. But Jim didn’t.
‘No, I need to be you’ he said. The woman got surprised.
The young man explained: ‘ In two hours a woman is going to come here. I am in love with her but
she has a boyfriend. I know they do not get on well but she just needs some courage to leave him. I
am going to get dressed like a fortune teller and help her a little bit.’ The man smiled in a shy way.
Madame Yolanda looked at the man with no expression in her face. ‘But how’ she asked.
The man continued ‘I am going to say her that she will be very happy if she comes with me. And of
course I’m going to pay £200 to you for your help’. The fortune teller smiled and accepted.
