List of ACCA exams

The following is a list of ACCA exams for each level and the knowledge areas you’ll cover in an ACCA
course before sitting them.

Applied Knowledge exams

1. Business and Technology (BT)

You'll focus on business organisation, structure, governance, and management, while considering
environmental influences. You'll also cover a selected history of accounting and knowledge on managing
a team.

2. Financial Accounting (FA)

You will review financial reporting, qualitative characteristics of financial information, and bases of
accounting. Includes an overview of double entry, accounting systems, and how to prepare a trial
balance, statements, and group accounting basics.

3. Management Accounting (MA)

Covers the nature and purpose of cost and management accounting. Specifically cost classification,
behavior, and purpose. This paper also includes a focus on business mathematics and electronic
spreadsheets, cost-accounting techniques, and short-term decision-making methods.

Applied Skills exams

1. Corporate and Business Law (LW)

You will study the general legal framework relating to business, including a focus on areas linked to
corporate accounting.

2. Taxation (TX)

This paper will enhance crucial knowledge and skills relating to the tax system for business and individual
purposes.

3. Financial Reporting (FR)

Develop the knowledge to help you prepare, present, analyze, interpret financial statements to relevant
accounting standards.

4. Performance Management (PM)

Learn how to apply management accounting techniques to quantitative and qualitative information. Also
includes a renewed focus on previous topics, including absorption and marginal costing.
5. Financial Management (FM)

This paper covers the expectations of a financial manager, including specific issues that influence
investment and financing.

6. Audit and Assurance (AA)

You will explore skills specifically for the process and application of performing an audience assurance
engagement.

ACCA Strategic Professional exams

1. Strategic Business Reporting (SBR)

You will learn how to apply and evaluate concepts, principles, and practices for the preparation and
interpretation of corporate reports in several contexts.

2. trategic Business Leader (SBL)

You will grow the skills of an effective leader while supporting senior management. Also includes a focus
on the Ethics and Professional Skills module.

And a choice of two optional ACCA exam papers:


1. Advanced Audit and Assurance (UK & INT) (AAA)

This paper covers how to obtain, plan, control, and conclude audit and assurance engagements. It is
recommended to study this alongside the SBR.

2. Advanced Financial Management (AFM)

You will develop an understanding of senior financial executive expectations that link directly to the
financial management of an organization.

3. Advanced Performance Management (APM)

Covers the evaluation of skills for business performance through the application of strategic
management accounting techniques.

4. Advanced Taxation (ATX)

You will learn how to apply relevant knowledge and previous skills to evaluate the impact of major taxes,
focusing on both individuals and organizations. Will also help you to master any rule changes since your
last study period.
ACCA Ethics and Professional Skills module (EPSM)

This module should be taken before completing any Strategic Professional level exam. EPSM uses
realistic business simulations to develop a number of professional skills such as leadership,
communication, and commercial awareness.
