INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

There are challenges small businesses face including having limited resources

and low marketing budgets. Using social media to advertise is not only low-cost but

also an effective way to gain exposure and to reach new potential consumers.

According to Statistica, as of April 10, 2023, there are more than 4.59 billion active

social media users and that number is expected to increase to nearly six billion by

2027. (business.com) Having a social media presence gives small business owners an

opportunity to grow their businesses.

This research paper aims to determine the effects of social media advertising

on growth of small businesses. This will also explore the particular strategies,

opportunities, and techniques small businesses have in advertising their business. This

study will offer insight into effective social media marketing for small businesses by

looking at marketing metrics, putting creative methods into practice, assessing

research from social media professionals, and offering data-proven solutions.
