Symptom
 How to enable the ability for a user to attach a document while applying Leave
( e.g. Doctors certificate ) in employee time portlet?
 How to add an attachment type field in Employee Time (MDF Portlet) while
requesting for leave?

Environment
 SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
 SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Resolution

1. Navigate to Configure Object Definitions -> Employee Time object


2. Add a field say ‘cust_attachment’ of type ‘Attachment’ and Label it as per your
requirement. Set the Condition to timeType.externalCode
3. Select the Time types under "Condition Values" that need to use the attachment field as
indicated on the screenshot below :

4. Now try to apply a leave with any of these Time Types and the attachment
field comes up on the UI.
5. For example, one of the Time types we included in the list above is "India
Maternity" Leave. We notice that the attachment field labeled
"Documentation" will only appear for this specific Time type and not for the
ones which were not included
