INFRASTRUCTURE
The goal of our project is to study and solve the dynamics of slow
mobility that connect the Pegognaga area to the Po River.
Pegognaga, the predominant municipality in our project area, was
developed as an urban and industrial agglomeration around the
highway exit. This municipality is part of a context rich in agriculture,
at the crossroads of different horizontal and vertical routes.
We have noticed how this area has a mainly productive identity, with
poor green infrastructure and an absent dialogue with the river
embankment, since 2018 under the tutelage of the MaB UNESCO.
Our project aims to act on three different layers: to develop vertical
green infrastructures that can connect the city with the Po River,
enhancing the experience of the countryside; emphasize the existing
spots along the embankments of the Po River and in the countryside
to strengthen the identity of the territory; act on the expansion of the
municipality of Pegognaga to lower the grey impact of the industries
and make its development virtuous towards a sustainable and green
future, trying to solve the urban edges with the agricoltural land as
an opportunity for a different type of city.
