4 Preparations
Open the battery compartment at the rear end of the
RIDEwatcher. Introduce the batteries as shown in the il-
lustration on the right. Note the polarity of batteries.
Improperly introcuded batteries can damage the
RIDEwatcher! If the RIDEwatcher is to be stored for some
time, the batteries must be removed to protect the equip-
ment.

5 Connecting the RIDEwatcher to the computer

The free Windows operating software for the RIDEwatcher can be downloaded from
our homepage www.Henning-GmbH.de.

The drivers for the USB interface are installed together with the software so that
when the computer is connected to the RIDEwatcher with a USB-A-B cable, drivers
will be automatically installed by Windows.

6 Operation
The following sections describe how the RIDEwatcher is operated. For operating the
RIDEwatcher via the optional software please refer to the operating instructions of
the software.

6.1 Turning the RIDEwatcher on

For turning the RIDEwatcher on, press the ON/OFF button for at least 3 seconds af-
ter which the Henning logo is displayed. After a short while the main menu is dis-
played. The RIDEwatcher is now ready for operation.

For turning the RIDEwatcher off, press the ON/OFF button for at least 3 seconds.
The RIDEwatcher is switched off and the display turns black. The RIDEwatcher is
turned off automatically when the batteries are low.

To prevent the RIDEwatcher from being damaged, low batteries should be replaced
as quickly as possible. If you want the data of the RIDEwatcher’s real-time clock to
be preserved, the clock should not be disconnected from the power supply for more
than 20 minutes. In switched-off condition low batteries supply the clock with power
for approx. one week. The measuring protocols stored in the RIDEwatcher are filed in
a nonvolatile storage and are retained up to 10 years even if the RIDEwatcher is
without batteries.

Do not move the RIDEwatcher during the ride as this may provide
incorrect measuring results.
