820, Switzerland) costing 7 Million USD, to meet the business needs of our
valued customer Pakistan Tobacco Company.
•Two, 8-color, 12000 SPM, Sheet fed offset printing presses ( Make:
Manroland R700, Germany)
•A Sheet Fed Cutting-Creasing machine ( Make: BOBST-Evoline-1020,
Switzerland)
•A folder gluer machine. (Make: BOBST, Switzerland)
•A Layout design station and an integrated networked of six CNC based
tooling machines to manufacture cutting, creasing and counter-milling parts
for the Flat-bed dies (Make: ELCEDE Germany)
•A Folding, Gluing, Printing and Bundling Press for the corrugated sheets at
Karachi factory. (Make: EMBA FFG244, Sweden).
•Visited various manufacturing facilities at Switzerland, Germany, Ireland,
Finland and Sweden for the trainings, technical discussions with various
manufacturers and vendors of converting equipment and tools.
•Optimized the operations and quality of the packaging products and led
maintenance of all of the above projects.
•Responsible for the OEE of Lemanic 820 by managing Performance,
Availability and Quality of the H/L Cigarette Packaging.
•Regular interaction with the QA team and to make and implement action plan
to mitigate for the recurring problems in the packaging materials supplied to
the customers.
•Regular visit of the customer sites for a face to face interaction and see
the supplied material defects and runnability performance at their packing
machines.

•Training and development of the machines operators as per the OEM's


guidelines.
•To plan and implement the strategies to minimize the process waste.
•Implementation of preventive maintenance procedures after careful
analysis of machine breakdowns.

Electrical Engineer
July 1993 - January 1999 (5 years 7 months)

Responsible for the 24/7 maintenance of power and automation infrastructure


at the Paper and Board Mill. As a lead Electrical Engineer successfully carried
out installation, commissioning, startup, process optimization and maintenance
of the following expansion projects.
•1994 | Automation and Up gradation of Bleaching Plant | Automation platform
was ABB’s, DCS MP200 constituting Of 500 I/O’s integrated with all process
instrumentation, 50 MCC’s, VFD’s and two HMI’s of ABB’s MV830.
•1996 | Paper Machine PM1 Rebuild Project | Business objective was to
increase the Production Capacity (50,000 T/A), improve product quality and
process efficiency at the cost of USD 25.0 Million. Installation/Commissioning
phase was timely completed within three months.
•Automation Upgradation | DCS’ Platform, ABB’s MP 280 was consisting of
3000+ I/O’s for field Instruments, 500 MCC’s, 32 sectional Drives, 30
VFD’s, one QCS station (Accuracy 1190) with feedforward quality control
of Basis Weight Moisture and Caliper, with a Siemens S5 PLC for sym- Z3
Calendar. Process HMI’s were ABB’s MV 830. HMI’s of Sectional drives were
a COROS work station via SINECH-L1 and 17, OP25 linked via Profibus
network.
•1997 | Construction and Automation of New Fiber Line Pulping Plant using
ABB’s MP200 DCS. This plant had 500 I/O’s for the field Instrumentation, 100
MCC’s, 20 VFD’s and two MV830 HMI stations.
•1998 | Installation, commissioning and startup of a Reel wrapping machine
with ~ 100 I/O’s, 10 MCC‘s and three VFD’s are on Simatic S5 PLC.
