Educ 225 Mini Teaching
2b.Advocate for equitable access to educational technology, digital content and learning
opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students.

As a class, we were instructed to get into small groups and prepare a mini-presentation for the class about a specific learning disability. This overall
assignment included preparation, a handout for the class, a lesson plan, as well as the presentation itself. As for the 4o minute presentation, this
included a pre-assessment, definition, simulation, evidence-based practice, assistive technologies, accommodations and modifications for ASD
students, and a post-assessment. My group and I presented about Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The standards of 2b include that the students "Advocate for equitable access to educational technology, digital content and learning opportunities to
meet the diverse needs of all students." This project meets the standards of 2b for a multitude of reasons. First of all, this was a digital assignment on
google slides that we presented to the class. And second, this assignment allowed my group to dive deep into an exceptionally and fully educate
ourselves on how to accommodate and teach a child with this disability in our future classroom one day. This assignment allowed us to know exactly
what a child with ASD would need and after watching all of the other presentations, we learned how to meet the diverse needs of a multitude of
exceptionalities. So, not only did I learn about ASD, I learned about many other disabilities as well. This presentation was beneficial to me as well as
the whole class.

Digital Citizenship - Adayla Liggett (1)

For the digital citizenship assignment, my classmates and I were instructed to write a two-page paper about the importance of Digital Citizenship. In
order to write this paper, I used the article "What is Digital Citizenship" and obtained all my information from there. I wrote about empathy and how that
plays a role in the lives of students engaging in digital citizenship. I also talked about digital wellness and safety. I valued this assignment and feel that
I benefitted greatly because of how often we use technology as students in today's world.
This assignment follows the ISTE standard because it allowed me as a student to dive deep into the digital world of education and inform myself about
the truth behind it. Because of the world we live in, technology is so relevant and so important to be informed about. This assignment exposed my
classmates and me to the correct and safe ways to use digital tools and supplied us with helpful information that we will be able to take into our
classrooms one day.

_Collection of Experiences Three

As a class, we were instructed to write a response (in APA Format) based on our past and present learning and personal experiences with students
who have disabilities. The format of this paper includes an introduction, definition, personal experience, reactions and questions, impact on one's
career, an evidence-based practice, examples of assistive technologies as well as a conclusion. In this five to seven-page written response, we were
required to reflect on any disability of our choice. I chose to write about Autism because of the experience I have with it in the classroom where I did my
clinical experience.
This particular assignment allows us, students, to demonstrate our written expression skills and it also meets standard 5a in multiple different ways.
We were able to use technologies such as google docs to write this paper, as well as use Google to do research more about Autism and find
photos/ideas for the assistive technologies. I was able to learn so much about Autism and how to work with students who have this disability, through
different personal experiences. There is a surplus of ways to help accommodate learners that have needs. One way to accommodate students is to
supply them with assistive technologies. Some of the technologies that I included in my paper and expanded my learning about are weighted vests,
emotion/feeling cards, as well as scheduling apps. Overall, I was able to use technology as well as my personal experiences to independently learn
how to best accommodate and work with students that have differences and needs.
Educ 282 Book Trailer
5a. Use technology to create, adapt and personalize learning experiences that foster independent
learning and accommodate learner differences and needs.

For this technology based assignment, we were instructed to create a book trailer via the website called animoto.” For
this assignment, we created an original Animoto digital book trailer after reading an award winning novel recommended
for middle grade learners. I learned how to use this unfamiliar form of technology to introduce and briefly explain the
story of Pi from the book “The Life of Pi'' with the target audience being 6th-8th grade students. In my video, I used a
variety of pictures, quotes, and summary sentences to introduce the plot in my book trailer. I asked questions such as
“Will Pi live to tell his story?” to gain the interest of my audience and encourage them to read the book for themselves to
find out how the book ends. This assignment is a fun and different way to introduce books to your future classroom.
Additionally, this assignment gave me the platform to be creative using a new video platform. I was able to fulfill the
standard 5a by using technology to create my own individualized video introducing the book of my choice - “Life of Pi.”
Animoto allowed me to choose a theme, music, and images to go along with my video! We also were instructed to cite
each image we used in order to give credit to the sources that we used in this book trailer. Animoto was a great website
to use in order to create this book trailer and I learned a great deal and hope to use this platform in my future classroom.

Metaphor Presentation-Adayla Liggett

During the course of our class we learned about the 8 stages of development. The metaphor project, was a project where you had to find a metaphor
that relates or shows all the stages of development in a fun way. So you had to come up with a 5 minute presentation in which you share with the class
how your metaphor relates to all the stages of development. I used toys / games to represent the different stages. EX: babydoll went with the second
stage of development while card games went with the seventh stage. A of the technology I used in this project was different photos that tI found on
google that represent the different stages. I created this on google slides and tried my best to make it visually pleasing.
This assignment meets the 6d standard because it allows for the students to be creative in their own ways. This assignment has a lot of freedom in
which the students can express their creativity. This assignment also allows the students to make connections from the metaphor of their choosing to
the 8 different stages.
Include a specific technology used.
