Gender Sensitivity
Gender
Sensitivity
Gender sensitivity begins with understanding the
dynamics of gender relations and the gender issues in
the society in relation to the three dimensions of gender
namely, gender equality, gender equity and gender
discriminations. Along with these is to understand
gender construction through gender role socialization
and how society through its various institutions shaped
the traditional gender roles among men and women
that led to gender inequity and marginalization of
women.

The story is one about standing up in the face of
adversity, and emphasizes the importance of fighting for
others. “Erin Brockovich is a strong film about a strong
woman, it does not shy away from class or stigma
(Brockovich was a single mother of three),” said Fuery.
“Its message is strengthened by the support Erin
receives from her male counterparts in the film.”
