The pursuit of happiness has long been associated with the accumulation of

material wealth, with the assumption that acquiring more possessions will lead to
greater happiness. While many argue that in countries that have already achieved
affluence, additional wealth fails to bring significant happiness; however, I
strongly advocate that additional wealth can still play a vital role in contribution to
individual happiness in affluent societies.
One of the primary reasons for why additional properties still increase happiness
of prosperous society is that it can create new opportunities for personal growth,
fulfillment and leisure activities. It allows individuals to pursue their passions,
engage in experiences and explore their potentials without considering about
financial problems. Moreover, possessing property, financial stability, and
inheritance continues to provide a sense of security and comfort in affluent
countries. These assets offer a safety net in times of uncertainty, reducing anxiety
and promoting a more relaxed and healthy lifestyle. The stability afforded by
additional wealth allows individuals to focus on their personal development,
relationships and other non-material aspects that contribute to high level of
happiness.
On the other hand, greater wealth also provides access to better healthcare,
education, living conditions and other basic demands. In countries with already
high living standards, additional assets can help maintain and enhance these
standards, leading to improved physical and mental well-being. It allows
individuals to live in high-standard neighborhood, access quality services, as well
as enjoy comfortable lifestyles, which is one of the contributing factors to overall
happiness. Furthermore, additional wealth empowers individuals to contribute to
charitable causes and make a positive impact on society. Engaging in philanthropy
has been linked to increased happiness and a sense of purpose. By using their
wealth to help others and address societal issues, individuals derive a deep sense of
satisfaction and fulfillment
In conclusion, while wealth can undoubtedly enhance happiness level, it is crucial
to strike a balance to life, focusing on holistic well-being rather than pursuing
wealth as the sole source of happiness.
