ACTIVITY 1

Write a reflection about the story of Celia.

In Celia’s condition, health lacks in mental, emotional, and physical well-being. In order
to maintain a healthy state of being, she must require care and attention but failed to do so. In her
case, it includes a lack of emotional support, physical abuse by her spouse, knowledge
deficit about optimal mother and child care. Due to a lack of financial support, her family was
forced to borrow money to cover fare and hospital charges. Unfortunately, she lost both her child
and herself.

Not the aim of living, but a resource for everyday life. Health is a positive term that
emphasizes social and personal resources in addition to physical abilities. This suggests that
health is a means to an end, rather than an end in itself, for an individual's function in society. A
healthy lifestyle gives the ability to live a full, meaningful life. The two most usually involved in
Celia’s mental and physical health. Overall Celia’s health is influenced by spiritual, emotional,
and financial well-being. It linked these to her stress levels and her inability to strengthen her
mental and physical health. Because many psychological terms are based on her sense of
experience, defining mental health is more difficult than defining physical health.

Celia was unable and failed to rely on her capacity to:

 take enjoyment in life
 adapt to hardship and bounce back after tough experiences
 manage various aspects of life, such as family and finance
 feel secure and safe
 to fulfill potential as a mother and wife

Physical and mental health are intimately connected. It has an impact on a person's ability
to execute routine responsibilities and can lead to despair and stress. It's vital to consider "health"
as a whole rather than as a collection of different components. All aspects of health are
interconnected, and people should strive for general well-being and balance as the foundations of
good health that Celia didn’t achieved during her living.
Discuss the factors affecting health.

•Income and social status - higher income and social status are linked to better health.

•Education – low education levels are linked with poor health, more stress and lower self
confidence.

•Physical environment – safe water and clean air, healthy workplaces, safe houses,
communities and roads all contribute to good health.

•Employment and working conditions – people in employment are healthier, particularly those
who have more control over their working conditions

•Social support networks – greater support from families, friends and communities is linked to
better health.

•Culture - customs and traditions, and the beliefs of the family and community all affect health.

•Genetics - inheritance plays a part in determining lifespan, healthiness and the likelihood of
developing certain illnesses.

Personal behaviour and coping skills – balanced eating, keeping active, smoking, drinking, and
how we deal with life’s stresses and challenges all affect health.

•Health services - access and use of services that prevent and treat disease influences health

•Gender - Men and women suffer from different types of diseases at different ages.

How can you help in the promotion of public health?

1. Personal Skills Development

Health promotion aids personal and societal growth by offering information, health
education, and life skills enhancement. By doing so, it expands people's ability to exert greater
control over their own health and settings, as well as to make health-promoting decisions. It is
vital to provide oneself with the opportunity to learn throughout lives and how to prepare for all
of life's stages and how to cope with chronic disease and injury. Educational, professional,
commercial, and voluntary organizations, as well as the institutions of one selves, must take
action.
2. Being Healthy at Work
Speak with the Human Resources department to see if they'd be interested in launching
an employee wellness program, or take modest actions like switching to healthier snacks in the
break room vending machines. I might be able to assist in the promotion of an existing
employee wellness program.Encourage individuals to join in a morning workout or walking
group to take control of their health. When given the correct motivation, one might be surprise at
how many people adopt healthy habits.

3. Creating a supportive environment

Our societies are complex and interdependent. Health is intimately connected to other
aims. A social - ecological approach to health is based on the inseparable ties between people
and their environment. The need to foster mutual maintenance to take care of one another, our
communities, and our natural environment. It is the global guiding principle. Natural resource
conservation should be highlighted as a worldwide duty around the world. Our work and leisure
should be an indicator of health. The way society arranges work should contribute to the
development of a healthy society. Health promotion creates safe, interesting, gratifying, and
joyful living and working environments. Assessment of the health effects of a fast changing
environment, particularly in the fields of technology, work, and energy production, is critical,
and it must be supported by action to ensure that the public's health benefits. Any health
promotion strategy must address the protection of the environment and physical aspects, as well
as the preservation of natural resources.

4. Volunteer with a social services organization in my community

Find out what non-profit organizations provide social services that benefit the
community's health. Find out more about what they do and how they work. I can help one of
these organizations reach more people by offering your time. I can make a significant difference
in the lives of individuals who are in need by making a tiny effort!

5. Action is required for health promotion: to educate others on how they can maintain their
health to address the growing factors in the community that have the greatest impact on health
and well-being so that they can be assisted
