Today I would like to present Beatrice Kristi Iley Laus.

First of all, Beatrice is a singer, songwriter. Professionaly known as beabadobee. She was born on 3th June
2000. Now she is twenty three years old. Laus was born in Iloilo City in the Philippines and moved to
London with her parents at the age of 3. Her music usually is described as indie rock, space rock, alternative
rock, indie pop.
In one of her interview Beatrice has said that she was always interested in music and wrote songs. The
problem was that she never knew an instrument she could play. At the age of seventeen she started playing a
guitar. Same age Bea wrote her first song name "Coffee." Before guitar she also used to play the violin.
In total Laus has seven albums and some single songs. I added six albums out of seven, like space cadet and
fake it flowers.
Beabadobee draws inspiration from everywhere, including favourite artists like The Sundays, Smashing
Pumpkins and Mazzy Star. Mainly, her music inspiration is from 90s. This is especially noticeable in her
video clips. Beabadobee also has said that she love getting inspired by films and the feeling that films evoke.
She is known to be very outspoken and playful, holding a strong persona on her social media accounts. On
the Instagram currently she has almost three millions followers. She is seen to be a care free artist and is
known for her many looks ranging from make-up to outfits. Notably, the Instagram posts that show her
various styles adheres to that expected of an indie-alternative artist. Her chic looks differing from current
mainstream fashion trends - reflecting her music also.
Talking about nickname idea. It was actually because of the family. The same nickname her family gave her
when she was younger inspired her stage name. As a kid, her father would sing her, while replacing the
words black sheep to beadobee.
Some interesting facts about her that originally she wanted to be a nursery school teacher or a nun. Also, a
lot of her music is written in her small bedroom, she calls it a safe place. Beabadobee early music was often
even tagged as "bedroom pop", the term given to home-recorded music often marked by minimal and raw
production, as well as lo-fi aesthetics. Another thing, is that she got kicked out of school in year 13 because
she was charged with misconduct. However, she was able to finish school later.
To conclude, I would like to say that even she is not my favourite artist, I think she is incredible and will
gain a lot more popularity in the future.
