Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell is an American singer and songwriter.

She was born in Los Angeles, California, on December 18, 2001. She is
the daughter of actress and screenwriter Maggie Baird and actor Patrick
O'Connell, both are also musicians.

She and Finneas, who was her brother, had worked on some
music together since she had been writing and producing her
own songs and performing with her band. She was inspired by
her brother and mother to enter music. Her parents encouraged
her and her siblings to express themselves and explore what they wanted, including art
classes and acting. She wrote her first "real" song at age 11 for her mother's songwriting class.
The song is about the zombie apocalypse, inspired by the television series The Walking Dead,
from which she took scripts and episode titles that she added to the song as part of the task.

She captured media attention in 2015 when she uploaded the song "Ocean Eyes" to
SoundCloud. This song was written and produced by his brother. Her debut EP called "Don't
Smile at Me" (2017), reached the top 15 in the US. USA, UK, Canada and Australia.

Much of the media attention surrounding her has revolved around her style,
which consists primarily of baggy, ill-fitting clothing. In 2017, She said she likes
to dress outside of her comfort zone to feel like she's attracting the attention
of everyone around her. She tries to be "really different from many people"
and dresses differently from what others wear. Aiming to "look memorable,"
she said she "showed people that he is more important than they think" and
that she likes to be a little intimidating. She dresses in baggy clothes to
prevent people from criticizing her body because if she doesn’t show her body
they will not know what she is like and will not be able to criticize her.

She's first album called "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We

Go?" (2019), debuted at the top of the “Billboard 200” and became
the best-performing album of 2019 in the US. It also reached
number one in the UK. The album contains six songs that are on the
Billboard Hot 100 list: "When the Party's Over", "Bury a Friend",
"Wish You Were Gay", "Xanny", "Everything I Wanted" and "Bad
Guy", The last of these made her the first person born in the 21st
century to achieve a number one single in the United States.

She managed to win five Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards,
two Guinness World Records, three MTV Video Music Awards and one Brit
Award. She is the youngest person and the second person to win all four
major Grammy categories: Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the
Year, and Album of the Year, in the same year.
