My Speech

To the board of judges, teachers, ladies and gentlemen good morning. Let me introduce myself,
my name is Thanchanok Champathong. You can call me, Mint and I am 17 years old. My birthday
is on the 24th of April, 2000. I have a twin and I live with my parents in Nonthaburi province. I have
a favorite hobby and that is cooking. I like purple and carmine colors. My motto is, time and tide
waits for no man. I am a student in Mattayom 6 at Anurajaprasit School major in Science and
Mathematics.

At this moment, please lend me your ears. I am addressing my speech to you from the bottom of
my heart. Let me start to tell you that “I am an ordinary daughter, a typical student, a normal
teenager, a simple person and a regular citizen of this country and yet I have an extraordinary
family, an endless dream, an amazing thought, a meaningful speech and a heroic deed”.

Yes, I am an ordinary daughter and yet I have an extraordinary family. Family is foundation of our
being. Who we are, reflect the kind of family we have. I have a loving family and relatives. They
are teaching me to be good not only for myself but also unto others. Why I care myself? Why I
care other people? Why I care the environment? It is because my family is teaching me to do so.
That’s why I am encouraging each daughter and son to be respectful to their family and relatives
because they are our true guidance.

Yes, I am a typical student and yet I have never taken my study for granted. I do believe that
education is one of the greatest legacies a person can have. Having enough knowledge is enough
to compete and to survive in this world. That’s why I am encouraging every student to study hard
for the sake of the future.

Yes, I am a normal teenager and yet I have an endless dream. I agree that through education, I
can have the job I want. I want to be a nurse and I do believe it is one way for me to help the
people who suffer physically and even mentally. Through this dream job of mine, I can help
everyone to value one’s health. That’s why I am encouraging everyone that we should value our
health because we have only one life and we must take care of it.

Yes, I am a simple person and yet I have an amazing thought. We are in the modern world.
Science and technology are improving everyday but the question is, have we thought to be a
useful person to this modern world of ours? My dear friends, we can be a great role model to
everyone. We can use this technology for the purpose of goodness alone. The world is round and
only because of the technology it becomes flat. Everyone is our reach, we can communicate to
anyone regardless of what country you come from, of what religion you believe, of what gender
you have, and even of what language you speak. Our languages become one because of our
technology. That’s why I am encouraging everyone to use this technology for everyone’s good
sake.

Yes, I am a regular citizen of this country and yet I have a heroic deed. Not only heroes have
extraordinary deeds but also each one of us. Doing good and serve others are deeds of being true
heroes. If you are a diligent student, a good role model teenager, an obedient daughter/son, and a
law abiding citizen are type of service that only true heroes can serve and do. That’s why I am
encouraging everyone to do good, peaceful and a loving individual.

Again let me tell you “I am an ordinary daughter, a typical student, a normal teenager, a simple
person and a regular citizen of this country and yet I have an extraordinary family, an endless
dream, an amazing thought, a meaningful speech and a heroic deed”.
