    In 2002, Queen Elizabeth II addressed both Houses of Parliament on the occasion of


    her Golden Jubilee on April 30th. As the first major event, this speech opened the
    Golden Jubilee celebrations.

    Listen to the first part of the speech twice (5:33 min) and answer the following
    questions. (annotations: ephemeral - vergänglich, enduring – beständig)

    2. According to the Queen, which advantage does Britain have because of its
