IT MAY BE ARCHITECTURE,
SCULPTURE, PAINTING, MUSIC, LITERATURE, FIL, DANCE, PERFORMANCE/THEATER, AND LIVING
TRADITIONS.

- The Art form that I’m most related to and appreciate is paintings, Paintings are a universal language
that evokes emotions, tells stories, and reflects human experiences, making them a cherished and
timeless form of artistic expression. They transcend time and connect people from different
backgrounds and cultures, creating a universal language of emotions. Maybe I'm just inspired by my
older brother since he likes to make artwork, and the paintings he makes have a unique feeling for
me.

- The Artist that I like is Vincent van Gogh, The Dutch Painter.

3. IS THERE A PARTICULAR WORK OF ART CREATED BY HIM OR HER THAT YOU RELATE TO AND
APPRECIATE? WHAT IS IT AND WHY?

- I chose the artwork of Vincent van Gogh's painting "Starry Night" because it gives an impression of
a calm and quiet night. The painting’s vibrant depiction of the night sky, with its swirling
brushstrokes and bright stars, It just captivates the eye of the viewers and evokes a sense of awe
and wonder. You can also feel the e motional depth and personal connection that van Gogh infused
into his artwork resonate with people. "Starry Night" was created during a period of emotional
turmoil of him, while he was staying in a mental asylum, and it reflects his inner struggles and
emotions.

4. WITH YOUR SEATMATE, DISCUSS AND COMPARE THE ITEMS YOU LISTED.

- Comparing The paintings that I and my partner chose, "Starry Night" and "Mona Lisa" differ in
terms of style, subject matter, and interpretation. While "Starry Night" is a landscape painting with
vibrant colors and expressive brushwork, "Mona Lisa" is a portrait known for its realistic
representation and enigmatic smile. Both paintings have achieved significant fame and continue to
captivate audiences with their unique qualities and enduring appeal.

5. BASED ON WHAT YOU WROTE, MAKE AN ASSUMPTION ABOUT WHAT THE PAITING MEANS.

- I think the “Starry Night” Painting carries a deeper message as it reflects the artist’s struggles. The
swirling and vibrant brushstrokes in the sky may symbolize the chaos and intensity of human
experience, while the tranquil town below symbolizes a sense of longing for peace and stability. The
prominent presence of the moon and stars suggests a yearning for something greater, a longing for
connection, and a search for meaning in a vast and mysterious universe.
