story is ‘Ma Yuan and the Greedy Man’.
One day, Ma Yuan found a bag of money in the market. He hurried
home and showed it to his mother. They opened the bag and found fifteen
gold coins inside.
'We must go back to the place where you found this bag. The person
who lost it will be worried. He will come back to look for it,' said his
mother.
They went quickly back to the market and waited at the place where
Ma Yuan had found the bag. He saw a man there.
‘Is this your bag, Sir?’ asked Ma Yuan. ‘Yes, I must have dropped it
here,’ said the man.
The man opened the bag. Then he shouted, ‘I had thirty coins in the
bag. There are only fifteen here. You must have taken fifteen coins. How
dare you steal my money?’ Ma Yuan explained, ‘I didn’t! There were only
fifteen coins inside.
Many villagers came to watch what was happening. ‘Go and see the
judge,' they advised the boy and the man. So, they went to see the judge.
The judge asked Ma Yuan, 'How many coins were in the bag?'
'Fifteen, Sir.'
'Were you alone when you counted them?'
'No，Sir. My mother was with me. We counted the money together.

Suddenly, the man whispered at the judge, “I had thirty coins in the
bag. Make him give me back the fifteen coins. I will share some of the
money with you.
The judge thought for a while. Then, he turned to the man and said,

He looked at Ma Yuan and his mother. He said, 'Since I cannot find
