REGISTRATION NOTICE (MBA, MS & PhD)


SPRING 2011 SEMESTER
A) Semester schedule:
Registration Starts Monday 01st August 2011
Registration ends Friday 05th August 2011
First day of classes Monday 08th August 2011
Last day of classes Saturday 03rd December 2011
Start of Final Examination Friday 09th December, 2011

B) REGISTRATION RULES
1. Regular Students:
a. The sponsored students of MS(CS), MS(SPM), MS(TE) and MS(Math) MUST
take regular load of 3-4 courses.
b. The students of MBA – 1.5 & 2.5 years programs must take load of 4 and 5
courses respectively. The load for MBA-III years is also 5 courses.

2. Prerequisite Undergraduate Courses


A student cannot register for the graduate level courses unless he/she has
passed all the prerequisites courses imposed by the department at the time of
admission.

3. Repeat of Courses
A student may be allowed to repeat a course in the following situations:
i. The student had failed the course.
ii. The student has passed that course and wants to improve its grade. In this
situation, he/she is allowed to do so within one year from the date of last
registration in that course.

4. Courses Offered by other Departments


a. Students are allowed to take cross discipline courses only with the written prior
approval from both HODs and subject to availability of seats.
5. Change of a course is allowed through advisor till Saturday August 20, 2011.
6. A student is considered to be register if he/she has fulfilled all registration formalities and
have paid fee as well.
7. A student who has completed the registration formalities after the start of the classes is
advised to take registration slip from respective departmental Office to show it to
respective instructors for marking of attendance.
8. Withdrawal from courses is allowed till Saturday November 12, 2011(13th week). No
request would be allowed after this date.
9. Retake is only allowed in one of the Midterm-I, Midterm-II and Final Exams. Re-take of
examination (or adjustment of mid-term percentage in final exam) shall only be allowed
under unavoidable circumstances, such as hospitalization or death of a very close
(immediate) family member. MC is shall not be accepted for this permission.

C) Financial Information
10. All students are advised to pay full tuition fee on or before last day of
registration i.e. August 5, 2011. No challan form will be issued after the above
deadline.

11. Fee is payable:


a. through CASH at Bank AL-Falah, Gulberg Branch between 2:00pm to 5:00pm,
on a Challan Form available in Account Office.
b. can also be paid through PAYORDER / BANK DRAFT drawn in favour of
“National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences” in the Accounts Office.
c. A fine of Re.1.00 per day per thousand will be charged on any amount paid after
the deadline i.e. August 5, 2011.
d. Fee challans will only be issued to those students whose previous dues are
cleared by the Account Office from July 28, 2011.

e. Semester wise fee is applicable to all students. However, course wise fee is only
allowed to those students whom their advisor allows to take other than normal
workload due to some genuine academic grounds.

Student Club Fund (for all students) Rs. 1,500/-


Semester Fee for MBA Students Rs.68,500/-
Semester Fee for Graduate Students (3 courses) Rs.53,500/-
Semester Freezing Fee (within add/drop deadline) Rs. 2,000/-
Semester Freezing Fee (After registration deadline Rs. 4,000/-
Late Registration Fine (subject to permission) Rs. 1,000/-

f. In case of MS / PhD, a student is supposed to deposit fee equal to three courses.


However, if advisor allow them to take more courses on some genuine reasons,
then the balance must be paid before the start of classes.
g. If a student is graduating in this semester and he/she is left with less than normal
course load, the fee payable by that student will be equal to number of courses
left to graduate.
h. Challan Form will be available from July 28,2011 from Account Office.
D) Registration Procedure
 Students of MS(CS) & MS(SPM) will register manually through advisor on
Registration Form available from respective departmental Office. Those who
want to take Research Survey or Thesis course should also submit written
approval from HOD. Student of PhD (CS) will also register manually through
Advisor on the Form available in triplicate from Departmental Office. Online
registration will be done by the office/department.

 Students of MS(TE) are advised to get their Forms signed from Dr. Ahmad
Kazmi. The online registration will be done manually by the office.

 The students of MBA are advised to appear for registration on Monday, August
1, 2011 from 10:00am to 12:00noom in classroom No. E&M XVI. The department
has deputed two advisors (Dr. Hamid Hassan & Mr. Osama Javaid Butt) for this
purpose. Concerned students are advised to observe the date & time strictly.
The online registration will be done manually by the office.

 Students of MS(Math) & PhD(Math) are advised to get their Forms signed from
Dr. S.M. Husnine. The online registration will be done manually by the office.

Important Notes/Instructions:
 A course once dropped will not be allowed to be added again.
 Timetable and list of courses will be available probably before the start of registration.
Please check the same before appearing for registration.
 Consult timetable before appearing for registration.
 All students are advised to follow registration deadlines and pay fee in advance i.e.
before appearing for registration on the assigned day. Keep original fee paid slip
while appearing fro registration.
 Students are requested to follow the above registration schedule/ deadlines strictly.
 The procedure of rechecking will be announced after the start of final examination.
The rechecking is optional. No other chance on whatever reasons will be allowed if
missed on the scheduled day and time.
