Carbon steel
Low carbon steel
• Used for construction such as
bridges, buildings, aircraft, ship
building, vehicle bodies, wire,
domestic appliances, food cans
and every day items such as
screws, nails, bolts, etc.
Mild carbon steel
• Used to create products across a
wide variety of industries and
markets.
• Used in building construction,
pipeline construction, automobiles,
machinery building, gating,
fencing, furniture, signs, cookware
and wire.
Medium carbon steel
• Mainly used for railway tracks,
train wheels, crankshafts, gears,
machinery parts, tools, axles,
coupling and forgings, oil &
gas industry, construction
materials.
High carbon steel
• Used in cutting tools, springs,
coils for manufacturing
industries, crankshafts, exhaust
manifolds, brake rotors, and
fasteners.
Tool steel is commonly used to make tools.

W-Grade tool steel

(Water hardening)
• Used for cold heading, cutting
tools and knives, embossing,
reamers and cutlery.
O-Garde( oil hardening )
• Used in arbors, bushing,
chasers(thread cutting), collets,
die blanking, cold forming, cold
trimming, drill bushing, gages
and knurling tools.
A-Grade( Air Hardening )
• Used in lamination, lathe center
knives, woodworking knives,
cold shear knives, chipper
knives, cold swaying, coining,
cams and blanking.
D-Grade( D Type )
• Include burnishing tools, file
cutting, paper cutters, die
bending, cold extrusion, thread
roll, wire drawing, cold
trimming, cold heading die
inserts and gages.
S-Grade( Shock resisting types )
• Applied for battering tools,
boiler-shop tools, chisel
blacksmiths, chisel cold& hot
working, chuck jaws, clutch
parts, cold & hot grippers, cold
& hot seatings, hot trimmings,
chipper knives, and cold&hot
shear.
H-Grade( Hot Working)
• Used to cut material at high
temperatures.
• Used for cold heading die
casings, die casting dies, hot
forging, dummy blocks( hot
extrusion) and cores for zinc
and aluminum.
Alloy steel is most commonly used to
manufacture pipes.
