Hi Everyone!

As the Director of Health and Education Research Services, Inc., dba Padma Sherni Inc., I am happy to
share that our 501c3 nonprofit is offering the Music and Literacy Promotion Project to help build
children’s resilience through health and literacy promotion and multicultural awareness through the
arts! Past work experiences have shaped my interests to support children, individuals and families
from employment with federally funded, as well as state and local funded, departments of public
health and education, to hospital, clinic, university setting survey research, my own nonprofit
organization, and art hobbies. I look forward to continuing this important comprehensive work for
teachers, parents, and children! Thank you, Pialee Roy, Ph.D.

PROJECT SUMMARY

After gathering permission from the Early Childhood Center, or Family Care Provider, and
completing informed consent and teacher and or parental permission forms, college
interns and or project assistants who have completed CITI human subjects protection
training, babysitting basics, and HIPAA compliance, respectfully request to work with you
at your center, or home, or online for The Music and Literacy Promotion Project with
Drama Play Intervention for Families with Young Children.

The following program and assessments will be completed up to twice per year! (Toolkits and Worksheets will be provided!)
● Emerging literacy, numeracy assessments for each child: letters, numbers, words, shapes, and colors recognition.
● Shared reading plus storytime and song circle time, the Ages & Stages Questionnaire and PEDS Quality of Life Inventory,
● Parents and teachers will complete the School administrator survey, Beck’s Depression and Anxiety inventory, Consumer
assessment of Health Providers Survey (modified), the Newest Vital Signs nutrition facts label for health literacy survey.
● Resources lists and optional referrals can be offered. Discounted music lessons and drama play therapy are also a
possibility.

The health, education, and arts programming will result in a summary report of the surveys and data analysis, and information can
then be used by preschool administrators to apply for improved quality ratings of the schools, and advocate for increased
compensation and retention of teachers at the school, and possibly a further collaboration to apply for grants for additional funding
for your preschool!
RATIONALE

The purpose of the project is to support the trajectory of cognitive development and problem-solving skills, to increase math and
reading ability, and art and play opportunities. Many children do not have books, toys, or music supports at home, and the project
(through grants and preschool donations) encourages music and literacy promotion with the supply of learning materials and toys
for preschoolers and their families. We accept donations of up to $50 per parent and child or $2000 for the classroom of 40
students which will be used to offer a paid opportunity to the project staff, and to purchase books and toys for the children to keep.
