The Philippines constitution

- The Philippines' fundamental law can be found in the Constitution (1987). It sets forth the
government of the Philippines' organization, policies, responsibilities, and roles. It includes
the Bill of Rights (article III), which outlines the State's responsibilities to protect and
advance human rights and social justice (article XIII).

Statues or legislative enactments

- Legislative enactments, also known as statutes, are the written intentions of the legislative
branch that are authenticated by specific defined forms and solemnities. These enactments
prescribe norms of action or civil conduct concerning persons, things, or both.

Administrative or executive orders

- The State will promote, encourage, and develop tourism as a major national industry that
will allow the private sector to invest, work, and take initiative. Through this industry,
socioeconomic development can be accelerated, foreign exchange can be earned, foreign
visitors can travel to the Philippines and enjoy its natural beauty, history, and culture, and
Filipinos can see more of their own country and feel more devoted to it.

Jurisprudence or judicial decisions

- Not only is the tourist sector a large industry in our country, but it also contributes
significantly to its revenue. The public now considers it important enough to demand
cabinet-level promotion and regulation. Although we have laws and procedures specifically
designed for foreign visitors, Filipino travelers traveling overseas have not received the same
level of protection. Because there is little legal recourse available under the current
legislation, tourists frequently choose to forget about their complaints against local tour
operators who fall short of their promises.

Republic Act No. 9593

- An act establishing a national tourism policy as an instrument of Investing, hiring, expanding,

and enhancing the nation's infrastructure Improved travel department and its associated
agencies to implement that policy effectively and efficiently, and appropriating funds.
2. What is the significance of the Philippines constitution to you chose course.
- The Constitution of the Philippines, which establishes the fundamental values, governing
laws, and policies of the nation, is the ultimate law of this nation. The country's economic
development and the preservation of its natural resources and cultural heritage are both
endorsed by the Constitution, which makes no mention of tourism specifically. The
Philippine government acknowledges tourism as a vital sector of the country's economy and
one of great significance to the country.

The Tourism Act of 2009, which is also referred to as Republic Act No. 9593, affirms the role
of tourism as a catalyst for economic growth, job creation, and national advancement. The
tourism act of 2009, was approved with the intention of promoting the growth of the travel
and tourism sector in our nation. The act also aims to promote the tourism industry. It
recognizes this sector as an important part of the national economy and one that can be
used as a tool for socioeconomic growth and cultural affirmation, bringing in foreign
exchange, jobs, and investment while fostering a stronger sense of national pride among all
Filipinos.
The Republic Act No. 9593, in my opinion, is an important piece of law that offers an
extensive foundation for the growth of the Philippine tourism. Because it emphasizes the
significance of striking a balance between economic growth and environmental protection
and conservation, the act's emphasis on sustainable tourism development is especially
significant. The act aims to ensure that tourism development in the nation is both
economically viable and socially equitable for local communities by promoting a tourism
industry that is ecologically sustainable, responsible, and culturally sensitive.

In summary, while the Philippine Constitution does not have any direct provisions that relate
to hospitality management, it provides a framework for the development of the tourism
industry in the country. Republic Act No. 9593, in my opinion, is a step in the right direction
toward the Philippines' development of a responsible and sustainable tourism sector. For us,
tourism and hospitality are relatively new. We can see how laws can benefit not just our
industries but also the economy and nation as a whole. This will gradually help us more in
our course studies.

3. What is police power?

- One of the best things in democracy is freedom. Rights may be regulated in a way that
allows the government to implement laws that might restrict an individual's freedom of
choice. Police power is the state's most potent instrument for controlling freedoms enjoyed
by individuals. The legislative branch of government is mainly in charge of police power. But
under the general welfare clause, it can also be used by the President of the Philippines,
administrative boards, and local governments with proper delegation.
 The government uses police power as an essential means to control private rights and
advance the well-being of society. It has the power to pass laws that might violate upon
someone's property rights or personal freedom in order to further the common good.
Among many other things, the state's use of police power has enabled it to regulate the real
estate industry, provide prescription drug discounts to the elderly and people with
disabilities, and set retention limits for landowners under the Comprehensive Agrarian
Reform Law.

To sum up, police power is crucial because it gives the government the ability to control
individual freedoms and advance the good of society. It is the state's most potent tool for
controlling liberty and has a broad reach. It should, however, be legitimately used by the
government in accordance with the Philippine Constitution and is subject to limitations. The
legislative branch of government is mainly in charge of police power. But under the general
welfare clause, it can also be used by the President of the Philippines, administrative boards,
and local governments with proper delegation.

4. True or false: equal protection guarantees that all individuals are treated exactly the same under
the law.
- It is true for me. The Equal Protection Principle of the Philippine Constitution ensures that
every person will receive the same treatment under the law, regardless of their gender, race,
religion, or any other attribute. This provision guarantees that everyone is entitled to the
same legal protections and privileges and forbids discrimination.
