The environment is referred to as a "big green lung" and is vital to

human survival. But the state of the environment in the modern world
is rapidly declining and getting worse every day. The reason for this is
human activities.
To elaborate, environmental depletion stems from deforestation.
Indeed, because of the accumulation of population and inappropriate
housing plans, people usually chop down the trees to make way for
agriculture, infrastructure, and settlements. As a result, we disrupt
biodiversity and threaten countless natural habitats of many species
which push them closer to the verge of extinction. Moreover, plants
play a very crucial role in our daily lives, they provide us with oxygen for
breathing, absorb carbon dioxide emissions to decrease the rate of air
pollution, and prevent floodwaters from obstructing vehicles by holding
them back. Hence, chopping down the trees is bound to bring about
many demerits for human lives in the future.

Secondly, insatiable fossil fuel consumption has been one of the leading
reasons causing air pollution. For example, our appetite for fossil fuels,
such as coal, oil, and natural gas becomes excessive to meet the
demand of energy production. Consequently, the combustion of these
non-renewable resources releases copious amounts of greenhouse
gasses into the atmosphere which accumulates the state of global
warming. Moreover, the consequences are inevitable face rising sea
levels, more frequent extreme weather events, and disruptions to
ecosystems and agriculture as well as.
In conclusion, the environment is the most valuable asset for all of us.
And I firmly believe that we can not survive without the environment.
Therefore, raising awareness and enacting new appropriate regulations
are some ways that governments and individuals could do to protect
our assets.
