EXPLORING ISSUE ENVIROMENT IN MOVIE LUCA 2021

We're investigating the effects of documentary films on proenvironmental cognition and

nature behaviour. The concept of connectivity to nature, which describes people's sense of being
connected with the universe, is a major concern. Based on previous research showing that a
direct nature experience in zoos can increase connectedness to nature, we questioned whether
watching a nature documentary could increase connectedness to nature and pro-environmental
behavior.

By depicting the relationship of man and sea creatures, Luca is exploring environmental issues
in an effort to illustrate a need for empathy, understanding, and acceptance. The film is set in the
fictional town of Portorosso, which is inspired by the Italian Riviera and the Cinque Terre towns
of Portofino and Cinque Terre. The atmosphere of the city reflects the real Italian Riviera, and
the film's themes of adventure, self discovery, and the importance of the ocean and its creatures
are closely linked to the presence of water in the city. In addition, the film uses the concept of
water as a symbol of the transformative power of friendship and the interconnectedness of the
characters to shape their identities and relationships. In summary, Luca is a place where we can
examine the complexity of our relationships with the sea and its spiritual and ecological aspects
which are intimately related to our understanding of the
seas.

In 2021 Disney and Pixar's film Luca is a coming of

age story about two teenage sea monsters who are
experiencing life changing summers. The film is a love letter to the summer of youth, and it's
about friendships that change us. Luca is a film about the environment, exploring it through the
eyes of its main character, a young sea monster who wants to explore the world beyond the
surface of the sea. This story is about a man named Luca who's been longing for something out
of his solitary life at sea, and it revolves around the Italian Riviera. When he meets the next sea
creature, Alberto, they become friends and lead Luca to discover his own world. The film's
exploration of the environment is intertwined with themes of friendship, identity, and
overcoming fear.

The film Luca is an exploration of the environment in the eyes of its main character, a young
sea monster who has dreams of exploring the world above water's surface. The story is set in the
Italian Riviera, and revolves around Luca, who's been longing for something bigger than his
quiet life under the sea. When he meets another sea monster, Alberto, the two develop a
friendship that leads Luca to discover a new world beyond his own. The themes of friendship,
identity and overcoming fear are at the heart of this film's exploration of the environment.

In Luca, the lives of sea creatures and the transforming power

of friendship are explored in such a way that water plays an
important role. The presence of water has a strong link to the
themes of adventure, self discovery and importance of the ocean
and its creatures in this film. The relationship between humans
and sea life is also being investigated, bearing in mind the need
for empathy, understanding as well as acceptance. In addition,
this film's concept of water is a departure from other Pixar films in that it has been stylised as
part of the transformation and set piece itself. Overall, water in the Luca depicts opportunities for
adventure, self discovery, and interdependence of characters, which shape their identities and
relationships.

The explore environment is curiosity and a desire to find something other

than his quiet life beneath the water. Luca, a young sea monster, has been
warned his whole life that the human world is a dangerous place, but he still
dreams of exploring the world above the sea. When he meets Alberto, another sea monster, they
form a friendship that introduces Luca to a whole new world, allowing him to move past his
fears, see people for more than what they first appear, and believe in himself.

The main character in Luca has a sense of belonging,

and the fact that he's interested in environmental issues is
making it harder for him. All his life, Luca, a young sea
monster, had been warned about the dangers of man's
world. His parents forbid him from getting too close to
the surface. Because he wanted to explore the world
above the surface of the ocean, but faced a dilemma
between curiosity and sense of belonging, he was in
conflict with his family's expectations and community rules. As he became friends with another
sea monster, Alberto, and later with a human girl named Giulia, Luca's exploration of the
environment forced him to confront his own identity and expectations of others, leading to a
journey of discovery and acceptance.

how to accept himself and his curiosity in a way that will make him feel more comfortable with
the world of which he is not accustomed.

environmental issues that are addressed in the film Luca. The
film offers an opportunity to look at the complicated relationships
between man and ocean, as well as aspects of spirituality and
nature intertwined with our understanding of the seas in a way
that is not focused solely on climate change or other important
environment issues. The movie talks about the importance of
oceans, their creatures, and how human activities can affect their habitats. The transformative

relationships, is also illustrated by the visual design of Portorosso's town inspired by Italy's
Riviera as well as an stylized image of water on the film. Overall, the film Luca addresses
ecological issues by demonstrating the importance of oceans and their creatures for humanity's
relationships with sea organisms as well as the need to seek compassion, understanding or

the town of Portorosso, inspired by the Italian Riviera, and the stylized representation of water in
the film, symbolize the transformative power of friendship and the interconnectedness of
characters, shaping their identities and relationships. While the film does not expressly state what
specific environmental issues are to be examined, it provides a forum for exploring aspects of
people's relationship with the ocean as well as its spiritual and environmental dimensions
intertwined in our understanding of the seas. In all, Luca is a charming and enlightening movie
that's encouraging discussions about our relationship to nature, delicate ecosystems in need of
protection, as well as climate change, with rightful and informed hope.
