GAUGE MANUAL ALLY
ALLY Tools 7 PC Fillet Weld Gauge measures for 1/8”, 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2",
5/8",3/4",7/8",and 1". Please verify the fillet weld specifications you are measuring for
then use the appropriate gauge. Use the scribe lines on the gauge as a visual reference.
CHECKING LEG LENGTH
- Slide the gauge soit rests against the
upright vertical metal piece. The end of
the gauge should make contact with the
CO horizontal metal piece. If there is space
between the gauge and the horizontal toe
of the weld, then the weldis undersize.
WELD FILLET Checkthevertical toe aswell. The vertical
‘cribe lines will show where the vertical
toe shouldbe.

CHECKING THROAT THICKNESS
The protusion in the middle of the gauge
should make contact with the weld to
verify that itis not concave. Ifthere
space between the protusion and the
weld, itis not an acceptable fillet. Welds
should never be concave.
