Students who have opted for Online Proctored Examination option for Mid-Semester (EC2) & Comprehensive
(EC3) exams in the upcoming semester, are required to ensure that they comply with the below Mandatory IT
and Non-IT Infrastructure Requirements.
Secondary Camera (This is in addition to the Primary Camera requirement mentioned under
Laptop / Desktop Configuration above)
● USB Camera with wide angle view (wide angle view feature in the camera is mandatory)
● Recommended models for secondary camera are mentioned below.

● Students need to ensure that the device drivers for the camera are present in the system used for
taking the exam
● Cord length of the secondary camera should be long enough to allow the camera to be placed 2 to 2.5
feet away from the user.
● Since the secondary camera would need to be placed at a height of 8 to 10 inches above the test
takers desk, it is also recommended that the student procure a stand for mounting the camera at the
height mentioned.
● Secondary Camera will need to be attached to the Laptop or Desktop used for the exam via the USB
port. USB ports on the Laptop or Desktop should be active for attaching and detecting the Secondary
Camera. (if you plan to use an office machine for taking the exam, your employer may need to agree
and make these ports active. If this is not possible, please arrange for an alternate machine where
these ports are active)
● In case your machine does not support the USB of your secondary camera, you need to purchase an
appropriate connector to connect the camera to the Laptop / Desktop.
Mandatory Software Requirements
Software for Windows Systems (OTHER OPERATING SYSTEMS LIKE MAC OS, LINUX OS, CHROME
OS WILL NOT BE SUPPORTED)
● OS Version – 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or Windows 11
● Dot Net 4.5 service pack must be installed on the system
● Adobe Acrobat Reader version 9 for viewing PDF documents
● MS Office (version 2013 or later) for accessing PPT files
● Students need to take the exam in a silent, well-lit and exclusive room to ensure no disturbance and
distraction during the exam.
● Students MUST take the exam on a clean desk with sufficient space to place the Laptop / Desktop, the
Secondary Camera, Books and Reference material (if permitted by the institute for the exam).
● The desk space should also be sufficient to place the secondary camera at least 2 to 2.5 feet away and
in such a manner that captures the left / right side profile view of the examinee and his / her Desktop
/ Laptop. Please note that the online exam proctor may ask the student to adjust the placement of
the secondary camera if the correct profile view is not visible. On occasions the proctor may ask the
examinee to also move the secondary camera to briefly show a 360 degree view of the room where
the exam is being taken. Keeping in view the use of the secondary camera, students must ensure
adequate cord length, desk space and sufficient mounting space for it.
