1.Caracters

What sort of person is klausner?

In my opinion Klausner is a person with strange aspects such as his nervousness, he was
also weak and small, his physical appearance left much to be desired but mentally he was a
very intelligent person and with ideas that a normal person would not have.

What sort of person is the doctor?

The doctor is a tall and intelligent person, he also cares about the patients, on the other
hand he has a curious and adventurous mentality since no normal doctor would go to
experiment on a patient.

2.Brief summary:
It all begins with Klausner, a person who is investigating the sounds that people cannot
hear, for this he created a machine that detected these sounds, although it had not yet
worked for him, he hid this machine in a cabin that was He was in the garden, the day came
to check if it worked, until the Doctor found him in the cabin and asked him about his
throat, Klausner said that he was fine, the restless Doctor asked him what was that kind of
machine, then He explained its function and that he was going to test it soon, the Doctor
left, so when it was sunny he took the machine out to the garden and began to listen, he
realized that his neighbor was making a noise when cutting a flower, he asked her to He
repeated it to verify the noise and it turned out that the plants screamed in pain when they
were cut, then he verified them by giving an ax to the tree and it also made noise, Klausner
called the Doctor at dawn and the doctor picked him up, he told him to go to the garden So
that he could hear the same thing as him, the Doctor arrived, put on his headphones and
Klausner hacked a tree and a trunk fell on top of the Doctor and the machine, luckily he
dodged it but could not hear anything, in the end Klausner wanted to heal to the tree and
put iodine on it.

3. When did the story take place?

On a warm summer night.

Where did the story take place?

Through the front door, around the side of the house, into the back yard of a frame house.

4. what sort of sound vibrations was klausner's machine designed to pick up?
Those with more than 15,000 vibrations, he could hear up to 1,000,000 vibrations, such as
whistles that dogs could hear, sounds of flies and ended up hearing the sound of plants
breaking.

5. Do you think that plants feel pain? And why?

I think not, since they do not have a nervous system or consciousness, but they have done a
real study on this subject and it turns out that plants really emit a small cry when they are
broken.
6.Two facts i learned while i was reading

1 I have learned that we should not judge the appearances of people without knowing them
since they can surprise you like the great mind of Klausner.

2 I have also learned that we never stop until we achieve our goals like Klausner who did not
stop until he achieved it despite being called crazy.

7.What sound did Klausner hear when he tested his machine? He hear a kind of squeak as
a flower stem breaks and another sound as wood breaks.

What happened when klausner struck the tree with the ax for the second time? A large
branch of a tree fell on them and hit the machine.

8. Find an image that illustrates this the story:

Here we can see the doctor and Klausner looking at the machine.

9. Two questions that I have for Roald Dalh:

1. I wonder if he were the doctor, he would have trusted a patient and gone to the garden
to experiment with a strange machine.
2 because he chose the sound of plants and not another more credible one like small
animals.

10. At the end of the story, the sound machine is broken, what do you think Klausner will
do with his invention? Will people believe him? I think he would try to encourage not
killing or uprooting plants since they also suffer and I think that at first they would not
believe him because of his crazy physical appearance, but with the passage of time people
would see that it is true since little by little Klausner would show it to people who don't
believe it and want to check it out.
