Section 1 Executive Summary
1.1 Introduction
We thank you for the opportunity to submit Honeywell solution for this project. We are
pleased to present our Firm proposal to SEGITEC to provide a Honeywell ControlEdge
RTU2020 + Experion HS system for this Project.

Many plants are driven to lower product costs and increase quality and flexibility while
maintaining focus on compliance and safety. While automation plays an essential role in
meeting business needs, some solutions can add complexity and costs, thereby reducing the
return on investment.
Honeywell is committed to provide the agility required without sacrificing reliability and
lifecycle cost with Honeywell’s solution for small manufacturing site such as ControlEdge
RTU2020 and Experion HS SCADA. The proposed system incorporates the most current
proven technology standards making it a robust, secure, cost effective and open control
system.

1.2 Basis of the Offer
Honeywell has offered ControlEdge RTU2020 & Experion HS SCADA system, based on the IO
Summary and Architecture provided by SEGITEC:
 6 off simplex ControlEdge RTU2020
 1 off Experion HS SCADA Server/Station. This includes the supply of hardware and
software licenses.
 An option for 1 off Experion EServer licensed for 5 webclients.

1.3 Scope of Supply

Honeywell scope is the supply of products listed in the BOM Section 04.

1.4 I/O Count Summary:

Following I/O requirement is associated with the main RTU, remaining five RTUs do not have
any associated I/O.

1.5 System Architecture and Description

We have included 6 off ControlEdge RTU modules. Main RTU unit also includes 1 off mixed I/O
module cards. Nonetheless each RTU has onboard 28 mixed I/O for future use.
Honeywell has also included the supply of Dell hardware platforms and Experion HS SCADA licenses
to create a single server/station architecture. Moreover, an EServer with 5 web-client licenses is
added as an option.
Supply of any networking equipment and engineering/configuration services is excluded from
Honeywell scope.

Section 2 System Heritage and Overview
2.1 ControlEdge RTU2020
ControlEdge RTU is a modular, powerful, and scalable process controller capable of all remote
automation and control applications. It is designed to communicate with any SCADA system
but when combined with Experion® PKS/HS and its radically simplified SCADA configuration
with superior operator experience, it solves the most challenging remote automation
requirements.

2.2 Architecture Overview

The ControlEdge RTU2020 platform comprises many different integrated hardware and
software solutions depending upon the needs of the application. This pictured architecture is
a representation of many of the possible nodes that can be used in the ControlEdge RTU2020
Architecture. Note that architecture is highly scalable and not all nodes are necessary or
required.

2.3 ControlEdge RTU2020 Controller Overview
The ControlEdge RTU has an innovative modular hardware design with processor modules
that plug onto IOTAs that contain only passive devices such as cable connectors and an
expansion I/O connector allowing expansion I/O modules to connect without any further
infrastructure.

2.4 ControlEdge RTU2020 I/O Overview
I/O Modules come in two forms: onboard I/O and expansion I/O.

Both the onboard I/O module and mixed I/O module have the following mix of I/O channels.
• Analog Input (HART) - 8 Channels
• Analog Output (HART) - 2 Channels
• Digital Input - 10 Channels
• Digital Output - 6 Channels
• Pulse Input (High Speed) or Digital Input - 2 Channels

Definitions:

• IOTA, Input Output Termination Assembly: An assembly that holds the IOM and the
connections for field wiring. The IOTA contains only passive devices.
• IOM, Input Output Module: A device that contains most of the electronics required
to perform a specific I/O function. The IOM plugs onto the IOTA.
• CPM, Control Processor Module: A device that contains most of the electronics
required to perform the function of a process controller. A CPM plugs onto an IOTA
designed for the CPM. The CPM may optionally include the functionality of an IOM.

2.5 Experion HS Overview

Experion HS is a powerful software platform that incorporates innovative

applications for human machine interface applications (HMI) and
supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). Built upon the proven
technologies of the Experion platform, Experion HS is an integrated and
affordable solution for smaller unit operations.
Honeywell delivers automation expertise to process industries. As industry pioneers, we
have developed groundbreaking technology that has shaped today’s manufacturing
processes. Honeywell systems are easier to install and to use and are the industry’s most
reliable and scalable process control solutions. In addition to delivering innovative
products and technologies, Honeywell has the most experienced and dedicated customer
and technical support teams.

Since its launch, Honeywell’s Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) has successfully
helped thousands of customers worldwide improve productivity and profitability. The
most current release of Experion HS is at R430. Experion HS extends this proven
technology to meet the demands of specific industry segments. Experion HS is as robust
and powerful as Experion PKS and can efficiently fulfill the requirements of small to
medium size applications. It is an easy and intuitive solution that can be used by plant
managers, plant maintenance engineers, process engineers and operators in many
industries including oil & gas, mining, metals & minerals, chemicals, life sciences, power,
cement & glass and food & beverage. The infrastructure improves operator efficiency and
productivity.
• SCADA Enhancements incorporated:
• Support for IEC 61850 protocols widely used in the energy and utilities sector. They
are used for real-time communication among tele control equipment and systems.
• Pan and zoom operator Display provide a mechanism for efficient
navigation through geographically dispersed equipment, as you see on a
pipeline.
• Experion HS Server contains a HMIWeb Solution Pack library. This library is a
comprehensive set of ASM display guideline compliant objects for creating custom
built Displays.
• Pre-built standard Displays (including process group, point detail, trend, alarm and
set point programmer Displays) reduce configuration time.

 • Intuitive and flexible HMI meets even the most demanding needs for process
graphics, display navigation and alarm presentation.
• User-configurable pull-down menus and toolbars promote easier, intuitive navigation to
process data.
• Enhanced trending for up to 32 pens simultaneously and event markers provides
operators with a comprehensive view of the plant.
• On-board historian collects history and events, enabling instant access to reliable and
accurate process data.
• Open architecture based on commonly used industry standards and the Microsoft
Excel add-in provide greater choice in generating reports from process data.
• Integrated configuration environment enables offline and online configuration changes and
minimizing process disruption.

2.6 Exclusion
• All networking equipment such as Switches, and converters are excluded.
• All engineering / configuration services are excluded.
