1. Write down your own test-taking tips which you find very effective for yourself as
a student and share them with your classmates.

• Be prepared and confident. Make sure that you studied all the lessons and answer the
questions confidently.
• Get enough sleep the night before the exam. So you can easily recall what you studied.
• Always arrive early. So you can choose your desired seat and you can have the time to
relax.
• Make sure to urinate or defecate before the exam. So you can focus on answering your
exam.
• Read the instructions carefully. To ensure that you know what to do and what is being
asked.
• Read the questions carefully. Pay attention to the words “not” and “except”.
• Answer easy questions first. To save more time for more challenging questions later.
• Relax and stay focused. Don’t get nervous when you encounter difficult questions, you
can skip those and return to it later.
• Trust your instincts. When you don’t know the answer, make an educated guess and the
first answer that pops in your mind is mostly likely the correct answer.
• Review your answers. When you still have time, scan your answer sheet and make sure
that you answered all the questions.

3. Journal Writing:
Which study activities and habits will you continue to use in the future? Which
study activities and habits will you need to change? Why?

I have so many study activities and habits, some are good but most are bad. I will
keep on setting specific times for studying each subjects. I will spend more time on
complex subjects and little time on easy ones. I will also keep on studying in a quiet and
well-lit area so I can avoid distractions and focus on what I am doing. I will continue to
use highlighters and write keywords repeatedly so I can memorize faster. I will also
continue on teaching my friends and family the lessons to check my understanding and
identify the areas that need for improvement. And most importantly, I will keep on using
my relaxation techniques to reduce stress and just focus on studying. During the exam, I
will continue to skip questions then return to them later, use my time wisely, and have a
positive mindset.

The study activities and habits that I need to change are mostly listed in the
“don’ts” on the table above. Even though they are listed in my “don’ts,” I sometimes do it
especially when I don’t have enough time on studying. I will stop procrastinating and
studying the night before the exam because it may lead to short term memorization. I will
also stop using my phone while reviewing because it distracts me. I will stop reviewing
on the exam day with my friends because it messes my thoughts and makes me nervous.
And I will stop on sleeping late.
