Motivational Factors:
While the motivations behind their actions had many sides, the
case revealed that John and Lee were driven by a combination of
personal grievances, a desire for infamy, and a distorted ideology
of retribution.
John's troubled past and Lee's vulnerable state made them connect
to form a dangerous bond, gaining a warped sense of purpose and
justifying their violent actions in their minds. Lee had a bad
childhood, his mother would discipline him with force and
abandon him constantly.
He wanted her to stay so badly that at one he threatened to commit
suicide.
In the trial his psychologist said that Lee was extremely
desperate for a father figure.
John (who later would become the father figure) didn't have the
best childhood eather, He lost his mother at a young age and was
bullied on by his family, psychologist's later found that this
caused John to feel like his talents and power weren't seen, this
caused his need for power.

Conclusion:
The D.C. sniper case serves as a strong reminder of the fragility of
security and the potential for senseless violence to disrupt the
fabric of society.
While the apprehension of the perpetrators brought a sense of
closure, the scars left by their actions continue to stay.
It stands as a testament to the resistance of communities in the
face of potential danger and a call to remain vigilant and
proactive in preventing such tragedies from recurring in our
future.
