Pattern Notes
This is a beginner knit project and will assume
that you can knit, purl and cast on and off.
Measurements You will create a slightly asymmetrical shawl,
Width (cast off edge) 80cm (31in) working back and forth in rows. The pattern uses
Length (decrease side) 135cm (53in) almost all the yarn, so be sure to check your
tension.

With Yarn A and a 10mm circular needle, cast on 3 sts.

Embroidery Instructions
1. Using the stabiliser, trace the template.
2. Arrange and pin the stabiliser with the drawn template to the shallow angle (bottom) of the shawl,
following the angles to line up the pattern with the edging of the shawl 5cm in from each edge.
3. With the yarn double stranded, embroider Flower 1, using the Lazy Daisy Stitch for the petals first, then
create the Bullion Stitch centre.
4. Rep point 3 for Flowers 1-6.
5. With Yarn E, backstitch the stems, adding the Lazy Daisy Stitch leaves as you go.
6. With Yarn D, embroider Flower 7 using the Lazy Daisy Stitch.
7. Trim the stabiliser and rinse until dissolved.

Attaching the buckle
With Yarn D, sew the buckle to each of the other two
corners, 5cm in from each corner so there is an overlap.
