ARCHITECTS AND QUANTITY SURVEYORS REGISTRATION BOARD

(Under Act No.4 of 2010)

1.0 INVITATION OF APPLICATIONS TO SIT FOR BOARD’S PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATIONS IN MAY, 2024
The Board is inviting eligible candidates to apply for the Professional Examinations in Architecture, Quantity Surveying,
Technology in Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Building Survey and Construction Management to be
held in May 2024.
1.1 ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
A. ARCHITECTURE:
i) Intermediate Level:
A Candidate must hold an Advanced Diploma in Architecture or a degree with less than 5 years training in Architecture
from recognized institution.
ii) Final Level:
The Candidate must hold a first Degree in Architecture or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution or that
who passed the Intermediate Examination of the Board in Architecture.
B. TECHNOLOGY IN ARCHITECTURE:
The Candidate must hold a first Degree of Technology in Architecture or equivalent qualification from a recognized
institution.
C. INTERIOR DESIGN:
The Candidate must hold a first Degree in Interior Design or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
D. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE:
The Candidate must hold a Degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
E. QUANTITY SURVEYING:
i) Intermediate Level:
The Candidate must hold an Advanced Diploma in Building Economics / Quantity Surveying or a degree holder with less
than 4 years training in Quantity Surveying/ Building Economics from recognized institution.
ii) Final Level:
The Candidate must hold a first Degree in Building Economics/Quantity Surveying, or equivalent qualifications from a
recognized institution or that who passed the Intermediate Examinations of the Board in Quantity Surveying.
F. BUILDING SURVEY:
The Candidate must hold a first Degree in Building Survey or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
G. CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT:
The Candidate must hold a first Degree in Construction Management or Equivalent qualifications from a recognized
institution.

2.0: SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:

Candidates are invited to submit their applications for the examinations from the date of this advert up to 19th January,
2024 before 4.00PM. Candidates who attempted the Examinations of the Board in the previous year(s) and were referred in
certain subject(s) are highly encouraged to re-sit the same and the deadline for submission of their applications is on 23rd
February 2024 before 4.00PM. Please note that the Board will have two examination Centres in Dodoma and Dar es
Salaam and therefore you are requested to declare one centre by which your oral interview and written examination
will be conducted.
3.0 SUBMISSION OF EXPERIENCE REPORTS (LOGBOOKS):
Please take note that in order to minimize errors in logbooks, candidates are required to submit their draft Experience
Reports (logbooks) to the Board for verification of their completeness 14 days before the final submissions. Candidates are
free to submit their final Experience Reports (logbooks) from the date of this advert up to 23rd February, 2024 before 4.00
pm (Ensure Use of New Standard Logbooks available in the website (www.aqrb.go.tz). Submission of logbooks must
consist of three copies one original and two photocopies accompanied with a non- refundable fee of Tzs.70,000/= paid
by using Control number issued by AQRB. The Diary sheets in the logbook must be duly filled in by HAND, signed by the
Candidate and approved by the Supervisor.
4.0 MODE OF APPLICATION:
Applications for Examinations must be accompanied by duly filled prescribed form obtainable from the Board’s website
(www.aqrb.go.tz), application letter and certified copies of academic certificates, addressed to the undersigned. The cost of
application form is Tzs. 20,000/=. Additionally, for the final candidates, their applications must be accompanied with a
recommendation letter from the Supervisor stating that the applicant has acquired sufficient professional practical experience
and is ready for the Board’s examinations.
